Background / History
Korin lives atop Korin Tower with Yajirobe. As the androids devastate Earth, supplies on the tower run low, and Korin sends Yajirobe to scavenge for food. The Senzu Bean tree has not borne fruit properly for three years; Korin attributes its decline to atmospheric damage and increased ultraviolet radiation caused by the androids 4 5 18.
When Chen Mo arrives seeking Ultra Divine Water, Korin initially stops him with his cane. After learning that Chen Mo is Master Roshi’s disciple, he explains the water’s lethal effects and warns him against taking the trial. He ultimately respects Chen Mo’s decision and opens the passage to the trial space 18.
Chen Mo returns after nine hours. Korin monitors his recovery, observes that his metabolism is breaking down the toxins unusually quickly, and warns him not to move while injured. Once Chen Mo recovers, Korin directs him upward to Kami’s Lookout and advises him to save his remaining Senzu Bean for a critical injury 19 20.
