Background / History

Android 18 and Android 17 are twins who were once ordinary humans before Dr. Gero kidnapped and modified them. Their memories were largely erased, though fragments of their former lives and emotional capacity remained. Her original name, Lazuli, is unknown even to her until Chen Mo reveals it. 3

In Future Earth’s ruined era, Android 18 and Android 17 kill the Z Fighters and devastate human settlements. She destroys West City out of boredom and initially regards humans as weak, interchangeable, and uninteresting. Chen Mo becomes an exception after escaping her with red energy, kissing her, and later confronting her with knowledge of her past. 1 3

Chen Mo’s information leads her and Android 17 to Dr. Gero’s hidden laboratory. There, she confirms the existence of Cell’s project and learns that Cell requires both androids for its completed form.
