"Thud! Thud! Thud!"
Someone hurried over from outside, their chaotic footsteps crashing into the lively atmosphere of the great hall.
The sound rapidly drew closer. Then, with a loud bang, the doors were violently shoved open, slamming against the stone walls on either side with a dull boom.
A guard in standard Saiyan battle armor staggered inside. His face was deathly pale, cold sweat covered his forehead, and before he could even catch his breath, he dropped to one knee with a thud, his voice trembling.
"R-Report—Lord Chen Feng! S-something terrible has happened! The outer perimeter energy net has detected two... extraordinarily powerful presences approaching Planet Sadala at a speed beyond our comprehension! One of them... one of them possesses energy far beyond any enemy recorded in our database! And... analysis indicates that presence carries... a pure and noble 'divine aura'!"
The instant the words "divine aura" left his mouth, the atmosphere in the great hall exploded.
Everyone cried out in alarm. Even the most composed warriors revealed looks of fear.
Cabba abruptly looked toward Caulifla. Their eyes met, and both immediately saw the gravity in the other's gaze.
Everyone's eyes once more converged on the figure standing in the center of the hall.
Yet Chen Feng's expression did not change in the slightest from beginning to end. Not even his brows twitched, as though news capable of making the entire planet tremble had long been expected by him—merely the next page of the script.
He slowly turned around and looked at the kneeling guard, as well as the citizens holding their breath as they awaited his command. His voice remained as calm as still water in a deep pool as he asked the question everyone most wanted answered.
"Who is it?"
The guard lowered his head even further, his voice nearly tearful. "T-this subordinate is incompetent... The energy is too strong and has disrupted identification. Their exact identities are unknown! But that 'divine aura'... there can be no mistake! They... they're about to enter the atmosphere!"
The air seemed to freeze.
Only the wisp of smoke from the bronze incense burner continued to drift upward.
Chen Feng merely smiled faintly. There was no warmth in that smile, only composure and calm.
He said nothing more. As he turned, his black cloak swept out in a crisp arc, and he headed steadily toward the doors.
His metal boots struck the black stone floor, their clear and lonely echoes ringing out one after another, as though pounding against everyone's hearts.
Without a word, Hit followed close behind like a shadow. His face was hidden beneath his hood, while the cold aura around him clung to him like a specter.
Frost wiped away sweat that did not exist, forced a smile, and hurried after them as well.
The three Saiyan warriors—Beta, Caulifla, and Kale—exchanged glances. They were nervous yet excited, the fighting spirit within them nearly erupting.
They clenched their fists, steadied their breathing, and followed at the rear of the group with the bearing of warriors.
"Let's go." Chen Feng did not look back. His calm voice traveled through the great hall and reached every ear.
His gaze seemed to have already passed beyond the towering walls, toward the distant sky.
"Let's welcome our 'distinguished guests.'"
His words were mild, yet they made everyone unconsciously straighten their backs.
Meanwhile, beyond Planet Sadala's azure atmosphere, in the boundless depths of space.
There was no sound here, only silence and a sky full of stars.
Two figures floated in the vacuum, as though the laws of the universe simply did not apply to them.
The one on the left was round and plump, with light purple skin. His arms were folded across his chest, and his short tail flicked back and forth behind him.
His feline-featured face was filled with impatience and irritation.
The God of Destruction of Universe 6, Champa.
"Vados!" he said gruffly, his voice somehow carrying through the vacuum. "Are you sure it's this crappy planet?"
Beside him stood a tall, elegant woman.
She held a silver angelic staff topped with a crystal. Dressed in a perfectly tailored cheongsam-style outfit, her long silver-white hair floated and shimmered softly as though bathed in starlight, even within the vacuum of space.
She was Champa's attendant and guide, the angel Vados.
Hearing Champa's complaint, Vados did not respond immediately.
She closed those eyes that seemed to contain entire galaxies, her long lashes lowering.
Fine ripples of rainbow light spread across the crystal atop her staff.
She was sensing the planet below, scanning it through some method beyond all reason.
A moment later, the corners of her lips rose slightly. She opened her eyes, which gleamed with the light of one who saw through everything.
"That's right, Lord Champa. The coordinates are here—Planet Sadala," she said in an ethereal voice with a distinctive rhythm. "And you were not mistaken in your perception. There are more Saiyans on this planet than in any record we have ever had—indeed... more than in every known Saiyan settlement. And..."
She paused slightly. A fleeting trace of gravity passed through her calm gaze.
Champa impatiently urged her on, his tail swishing even faster. "And what? Stop keeping me in suspense!"
