After a long while, Vados finally nodded. Her staff spun lightly in her palm, and the crystal atop it suddenly lit up.
"I accept your challenge."
The moment she spoke, an invisible aura slowly spread from her body.
It did not have the explosive energy of a God of Destruction, yet it was as deep as the night sky, all-encompassing, as though an entire sea of stars had awakened around her.
"W-What?!" Only then did Champa struggle out from a pile of rubble, covered in dust and with streaks of blood still on his face.
Having heard Vados's words, his entire body froze midair, his eyes widening so much they nearly popped out.
The next second, wild delight exploded across his face like fireworks.
"Vados! You're going to fight?! Great—show him what an angel can do!" Champa flailed excitedly, nearly stumbling back into the ruins. He did not care in the slightest about how pathetic he looked; his eyes were filled with excitement, even a hint of madness.
Chen Feng slowly assumed his stance.
A silver-blue aura rose around him. At first, it was merely a thin mist, but in the blink of an eye it thickened, wrapping around his entire body like a burning nebula.
The ground beneath his feet had long since been unable to withstand the pressure. Cracks spread like a spiderweb, while broken stones floated against gravity, circling around him as they trembled faintly.
Vados remained standing quietly. She lightly tapped the ground with her staff, and pale golden ripples spread out from beneath her feet.
Wherever they passed, the shattered land seemed to be rearranged by some kind of order. The dust settled, and the cracks gradually vanished—not repaired, but calmed into stillness.
They had not even made a move yet, but the clash of their domains had already begun.
On one side was fierce battle aura, yearning to break through its limits; on the other was steady power of order, containing the laws of the universe.
Between them lay the ruined planet and a God of Destruction holding his breath.
The wind rose again.
It swept up smoke, dust, and the fighting spirit on the verge of erupting, pressing down so heavily that one could barely breathe.
"Vados! Hit him! Beat him senseless!" Champa's roar reverberated through space. His plump body trembled slightly with excitement, and naked, nearly frenzied delight at revenge burned in his tiny eyes, as if he could already see Chen Feng being crushed.
Yet Vados was like a star floating silently in space. Ignoring Champa, she rested her slender fingers upon her staff. No emotion could be seen in her pale violet eyes as she watched Chen Feng across from her, though there was a trace of complexity and scrutiny hidden in her gaze.
Beneath their feet was the azure Planet Sadala, quiet as a sleeping jewel.
Yet beneath that surface tranquility, undercurrents of energy had already become so turbulent that they were suffocating.
"However..." Vados finally spoke.
Her voice was cool and calm, blending seamlessly with the sacred aura surrounding her.
Then her tone shifted. "Before we truly begin, as an angel, I would still like to attempt one final mediation. Lord Chen Feng," she said with a slight nod, her manner extremely formal, "would you be willing to reconsider? Perhaps a single sincere apology from Lord Champa could settle this unnecessary conflict. A peaceful resolution would be better for everyone, and for this entire starfield."
Chen Feng glanced at Champa, saw the rage-twisted expression on his face, then withdrew his gaze and turned it back to Vados.
He stood in the void with a relaxed posture, yet the space around him was faintly warping under the power within his body.
When he spoke, his voice was not loud, but every word struck with suffocating force. "An apology is fine."
Champa snorted heavily, about to say something, but Vados stopped him with a glance.
Chen Feng continued at an unhurried pace, each word weighing down like an unbearable pressure. "But I have one condition."
"Please, go on." The crystal on Vados's staff flashed softly.
"He." Chen Feng raised his hand, his fingertip pointing directly at Champa. "He must kneel, face Planet Sadala, and respectfully kowtow to apologize to my three injured subordinates." He paused, a golden gleam flashing through his eyes. "And he must swear upon his God of Destruction divinity that for the rest of his life, he will never set foot on Planet Sadala again."
"Kneel... down?!" Champa's furious roar exploded like thunder. Every piece of fat on his body shook uncontrollably with rage as a purple-black aura of destruction erupted from him, instantly grinding several nearby small meteors into dust.
"You want—me! The noble God of Destruction Champa! To kneel and kowtow to those insignificant mortals?! Chen Feng! You're dreaming! You're insulting a god!" he nearly howled.
Faced with the crushing pressure of that energy, even the hem of Chen Feng's clothes did not stir.
He shrugged, looking utterly unconcerned. He even curled the corner of his mouth at Vados. "See? It's not that I didn't give him a chance. It's your God of Destruction who has no sincerity at all."
Vados let out a soft sigh, as though exhaling both helplessness and starlight.
She turned toward Champa and gave him one final warning. Her voice remained steady, though it now carried a note of admonition. "Lord Champa, please calm down. Sometimes, an apology is not humiliation, but wisdom and magnanimity. It can prevent an even greater..."
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Champa rudely interrupted her. Every word crashed down like a stone, leaving no room for compromise.
"I am a God of Destruction! My dignity stands above all else! I would rather have my divinity shatter in battle than lower my head to mortals!" Waving his short, plump arms, he pointed at Chen Feng and ordered Vados, "Vados! In the name of the God of Destruction, I command you—attack! Knock that arrogant brat flat first! I'll personally crush his arrogance!"
Vados fell silent.
The trace of helplessness in her eyes disappeared completely, leaving only the calm of duty and power fluctuations hidden deep within—vast as a sea of stars.
She had long understood Champa's stubbornness. At this moment, the door to mediation closed completely.
She turned around and faced Chen Feng once more.
Her staff traced an arc and settled firmly before her. Light flowed brilliantly along its length, merging with the sacred halo around her.
Her aura changed instantly, beginning to radiate a pressure that made hearts tremble.
"Lord Chen Feng," Vados said, her voice still pleasant but now carrying a cool fighting spirit, "I'm afraid it seems we can only find our answer in battle after all."
Chen Feng said nothing further. He merely nodded, and his gaze suddenly turned sharp.
The next moment—
"BOOM!!!"
A golden aura, brighter and hotter than the sun, erupted from his body! Holding nothing back, the power of a Super Saiyan surged to its peak in an instant.
Golden light spread like a supernova, illuminating him like a golden god of war.
Violent currents raged outward from him in every direction, and even the light of distant stars was swallowed by that pure gold.
His black hair stood on end, turning brilliant gold in an instant. His emerald-green eyes burned with fighting spirit, while arcs of electricity crackled around his body, tearing even space apart.
Even the void beneath his feet was nearly unable to bear it, rippling outward in visible waves.
The battle was about to erupt.
Vados's expression turned serious as well. Silver light flowed around her like a cascading galaxy.
The power of an angel was released bit by bit, spreading into rings of luminous patterns—not a blinding radiance, but a calm, majestic authority that dyed her silver hair and white dress as though a deity had descended.
