Background / History

General Li reportedly began as a ferocious young fighter who slew more than forty Western barbarian soldiers and returned to White Light City covered in blood. The military governor then accepted him as a personal disciple. 14

After joining the army, he fought across Great Zhou’s frontier strongholds before being assigned to defend White Light City. His reputation includes personally killing the Blue Whale Sect’s master in Liang Province and entering rebel-held territory alone before returning unharmed. 10 18

As commander of the outer-city forces, he works to rebuild the Eighteen Heavy Guards after prior barbarian attacks forced him to deploy them. He is also concerned by the northern rebellion, unrest across Blue Orchid Continent, and possible Demonic Sect involvement. 15

General Li is a massive, imposing middle-aged man whose presence is compared to a towering mountain and an abyssal pool. He commonly appears in military armor, though he also wears black casual robes at the governor’s estate. 10 15 18

Personality

General Li is fierce, blunt, and uncompromising toward threats to White Light City. He kills a Qilian Mountains disciple after the man confronts him, openly considers killing Bai Xuan for threatening a contestant, and responds to reports of demonic sect activity with immediate action. 11 20 28

Despite his brutality in battle, he is protective of civilians and insistent on order. During the Six Halls Martial Meet, he shields spectators from the fighters’ sound waves, penalizes masters who interfere with matches, and later changes the final-round rules to forbid deliberate killing. 19 22 26

He shows humility before the long-browed elder at the martial meet, but grows openly frustrated when discussing the shortage of soldiers and the demands placed on his command. 15 18
