Rem served as a maid at Roswaal Mansion alongside her pink-haired sister, Ram. The twins were highly sensitive to the Witch's scent, leaving them wary of Subaru Natsuki; Rem also questioned Higashino Makoto when he announced his plan to hunt the Witch Cult for its Witch Factors. She ultimately accepted his declaration that he was the cult's enemy. 234

After Makoto killed several Sin Archbishops, Rem revealed that the Witch Cult had caused her trauma. Though she could smell the Witch's powerful scent on him, she stated that she did not hate it and was grateful for what he had done. 251
