Background / History

The Tang Sect had been declining for many years by the time Tang Ya became its Sect Master. Its disciples had dwindled, its funds were nearly exhausted, and Tang Ya struggled alone to recruit new members, seek resources, and find a safe path past her cultivation bottleneck. Huo Yuhao became her principal recruitment target due to his exceptional talent, though he did not immediately agree to join. 56 57

Six years before the sect's restoration, the Iron Blood Sect seized the Tang Sect's residence in Heaven Dou City. The takeover was enabled by collusion with city-defense officers, while the Tang Sect's inherited classics and artifacts were sold or destroyed. 60 61

Huo Chen warned Tang Ya that the Holy Spirit Cult would exploit her desperation for power and the sect's revival. Rather than rely on evil power, Tang Ya accepted his guidance to stabilize and evolve her martial soul, gaining the Blue Silver Sky-Devouring Grass and its devouring attribute. 56 58

Tang Ya and Huo Chen later confronted the Iron Blood Sect at the former Tang Sect residence. Huo Chen suppressed the opposing elders and sect master to a level comparable to Tang Ya, allowing her to defeat Tie Li herself. She executed Tie Li, Tie Tang, and the four elders, while lower-ranking disciples and servants were permitted to leave. 60

As part of Shrek Academy's outer-court team, Tang Ya serves as a control-and-assault fighter and the tactical pivot of the Forty-Seventh Shrek Seven Monsters.
