Clues (Please Recommend, Bookmark, and Tip)

Flung from midair by Laserbeak, Sun Cheng used the trunk of a North American redwood to spring off, spun once through the air, and landed steadily on the ground.

Once he had regained his footing, he looked up into the sky again, but Laserbeak was nowhere to be seen. The fellow had clearly returned to protect Soundwave, who was about to enter stasis.

After quickly searching the area and confirming there were no humans nearby, Sun Cheng shifted back into humanoid form and dropped onto the ground.

He had survived!

That was what he had the most reason to be thankful for right now. Sun Cheng truly had not expected Starscream to be so decisive in attacking Soundwave, someone from the same faction.

Still, that was not necessarily a bad thing for him.

Judging from Soundwave's injuries, the guy would probably need at least three to five years in stasis before his body could finish repairing itself.

Maybe that's why he let me go! Sun Cheng vaguely came to a realization.

Soundwave was obviously very worried that, during the years he would be forced into stasis, Starscream might find the [AllSpark]. He had come to Earth decades ago, and if he had not already obtained accurate intelligence regarding the [AllSpark], there was no reason for Starscream to dare attack Soundwave so openly.

Soundwave would be extremely vulnerable while in stasis, so he had to leave the fiercely loyal Laserbeak behind to guard him.

But that also meant he had no one left at hand to use.

Sun Cheng pondered it over. That was probably why, even after discovering that his memories had returned, Soundwave had not immediately dealt with him. Instead, he had threatened and tempted him, trying to force Sun Cheng to work for him.

"Fortunately..."

With the immediate threat to his life temporarily lifted, Sun Cheng could not help but feel excited.

Soundwave clearly did not know that he was no longer the original "Frenzy." Through that mysterious spherical space hidden somewhere inside his body, Sun Cheng could leave this world and return to his original reality before Soundwave woke up again.

For him, though, that would undoubtedly be the best possible outcome.

After quickly sorting through his thoughts, Sun Cheng rose to leave the nameless forest.

Although he knew Onslaught would never worry about him, after thinking it over, he still sent him a long-range communication. He told Onslaught that he had gone to see Soundwave, had been assigned a new mission, and would not be returning for the time being.

After sending the message, he looked around at the dense forest.

He had no idea where Laserbeak had thrown him, but that was no problem for Sun Cheng.

He was no longer the same as he had been a few days ago. Having acquired a new body, Sun Cheng's strength had increased dramatically. While he was still far from being able to face an army head-on like Barricade and the others, his ability to protect himself had risen sharply. He was now capable of carrying out missions alone.

After using the sun to roughly determine his direction, Sun Cheng shifted back into beast form and ran southward, occasionally using animal trails and the course of rivers and streams he encountered to adjust his route.

After speeding along for more than half an hour, he finally spotted some tree stumps left behind by logging.

Realizing that he was about to leave the forest, Sun Cheng's spirits lifted.

Seeing that it was still early, the cautious Sun Cheng remained near the forest's edge until nightfall before quietly slipping out.

He felt his way toward a nearby human settlement and took a look around, only to be disappointed.

There was no human city nearby as he had hoped, at most a small town that looked capable of housing only a few hundred families. If not for the rows of American-style country villas, Sun Cheng would have thought that, based on its population alone, it was worse than even a village in the central or western regions of his homeland.

After taking a careful look around, Sun Cheng was thoroughly disappointed. This was a standard American rural town, centered on logging and livestock farming. Its residents looked just like the crude louts from American Westerns. Forget every household having a computer—he had slipped into more than a dozen homes under cover of darkness and found no trace of one.

Fortunately, the road signs allowed him to determine that he was currently in Oregon. Nevada lay several dozen kilometers to the south, while Idaho was more than two hundred kilometers to the east.

Now that he finally knew where he was, Sun Cheng began to think.

For the next stage, he planned to first infiltrate a larger human city so he could search for clues about the [AllSpark].

It was not that Sun Cheng had truly been intimidated by Soundwave and intended to work for him.

But Soundwave tampering with his [Core] had served as a warning, making Sun Cheng suddenly realize just how badly he needed the [AllSpark].

From the very beginning of his transmigration, he had understood that the [Core] was fundamental to a Decepticon. At the time, though, he had not fully understood why. It was only after Onslaught helped him design a brand-new body that Sun Cheng truly realized that without a stronger [Core], no matter how powerful his body was, it would be useless.

Yet obtaining a [Core] was not easy. For one, he had no idea how to manufacture one. Even elite warriors as powerful as Onslaught knew very little about [Core]s. He estimated that only Decepticon giants like Starscream, Shockwave, and Megatron knew how to create them.

Starscream had previously made a deal with him, and before the transaction, Sun Cheng had received a Level 2 [Core] from him. But as for the higher-grade spark Starscream had promised him, Sun Cheng did not dare ask for it now.

Leaving aside how much truth there was in Starscream's words, Onslaught had forcibly taken half of the spoils. No matter how Sun Cheng thought about it, he felt he might end up being blamed for it.

Besides, with that fellow's personality being even worse than Soundwave's, Sun Cheng had no desire to suffer again through the pain of having his life controlled by someone else.

He could not manufacture [Core]s himself, and the only powerful figure who could provide him with one—Starscream—was someone Sun Cheng did not trust at all.

That being the case, the only way for Sun Cheng to upgrade his [Core] and remove Soundwave's threat was to find the [AllSpark].

The [AllSpark], the supreme sacred relic of the Decepticons—Sun Cheng had originally known almost nothing about it.

However, during the period when he had followed Onslaught around, he had used it as a topic of conversation and drawn out quite a bit of information.

According to Onslaught, the [AllSpark] might have originated during Cybertron's ancient era—the age of the Elder Council. Legend said it was a divine artifact jointly created by one or even several Elders. It possessed nearly inexhaustible energy and could grant life to machinery. During Cybertron's ancient age, every Decepticon and even every Autobot had been granted life by the [AllSpark] and evolved through it into something stronger.

That was why Sun Cheng believed that if he could find the [AllSpark], there was a strong chance he could resolve the issue with the [Core] inside him.

But finding the [AllSpark] would not be easy either.

Starscream had schemed for it, Soundwave had followed close behind, Onslaught had waited for an opportunity, and there had even been the fleeting appearance of the Autobots at the end of that day's mission. All of it indicated that the [AllSpark] might be on Earth. But Earth was so vast that finding the [AllSpark] would be no simple matter.

"Right, I remember Onslaught mentioning that the [AllSpark] is a massive cube. If it landed on Earth, Earthlings would certainly mistake it for a meteorite. And an evolutionary force radiates around it—any electronic machinery that gets close is granted life and turns into a robot. If that's true, then there must be eyewitness records..."

Having finally sorted out two important clues for finding the [AllSpark], Sun Cheng felt his spirits surge. No longer hesitating as he had before, he only briefly confirmed his direction before leaving the town called "Ogden Marsh" and continuing south toward Nevada.

As for why the protagonist does not know about the [Transformers] world and so on, if you read carefully, I actually explained it in the first chapter. The protagonist comes from another parallel world, and in my setting, that world has no [Transformers] anime or films.
