On the far side of the moon, Starscream looked at the line of Decepticon warriors led by Onslaught, a delighted expression appearing on his face.
"Is this your new Combaticons, Onslaught?"
Inside that familiar sentry fortress stood five Decepticon warriors of varying heights. Yet their expressions were astonishingly uniform—every one of them wore an icy, indifferent look.
Although they watched him with hostile, scrutinizing gazes, Starscream did not seem uncomfortable in the slightest.
He even circled the five Decepticons with great interest, nodding repeatedly as he did so.
Onslaught was extremely uncomfortable with the way Starscream inspected them as though they were merchandise. He gave a cold snort and warned, "Starscream, as agreed, I have cultivated the Combaticons. How are your preparations for modifying Bruticus coming along?"
The only reason he had agreed to cooperate with Starscream, someone he was not particularly close to, was because Starscream had offered terms Onslaught could not refuse.
Who would not want a giant combiner? Even Devastator, a first-generation combiner, could leave Leader-class warriors unable to do anything against it for a short time.
More powerful ones like Superion and Defensor were practically the equivalent of an army.
After completing his transformation, Onslaught would likely join the ranks of Leader-class warriors.
But Decepticons were never satisfied with what they had. The prospect of possessing a giant combiner that obeyed his commands was a temptation Onslaught simply could not resist.
Starscream narrowed his eyes, the curve of them revealing just how good a mood he was in.
"Don't worry. My side has been ready for a long time. As long as you agree, the modification can begin today!"
Onslaught froze. "That quickly?"
Knowing Starscream as he did, he had assumed Starscream would stall for a while and find excuses to study the Combaticons first.
