Background and History
Replacing the Crown Prince
Qian Renxue volunteered to replace Xue Qinghe to prove herself and advance Bibi Dong’s plan to annex Heaven Dou. By the tournament period, she had spent more time living as Xue Qinghe than under her own name. The original Xue Qinghe was already dead 125 173.
Her disguise reproduced the prince’s body, voice, and martial soul. To explain gaps in her knowledge, the palace circulated a story that Xue Qinghe had suffered a head injury and memory loss during an assassination attempt. This initially deceived both the imperial family and Ning Fengzhi 126 176.
She secretly poisoned the second and third princes, removing rivals to the succession. Xue Ye suspected Xue Qinghe but did not investigate deeply. She initially left Xue Beng alive because she considered him harmless 36 171.
Recruiting Qi Dao
Qi Dao deliberately sought Xue Qinghe’s patronage for protection, soul-ring assistance, and access to Sword Douluo. Mei Luo arranged their meeting, where she questioned how someone with innate half-rank soul power could reach Level 20 at eleven. After examining Peerless, she accepted his explanation, apologized for her doubts, and offered material support 21 32 33.
Her public goodwill did not eliminate her caution: she ordered Spirit Hall to investigate his awakening records and background. Reports of his six-hundred-year first ring and fourteen-hundred-year second ring persuaded her to cultivate him as a confidant rather than force him to reveal his secrets 34 36.
She invited him to call her “Brother Xue,” arranged his admission to Heaven Dou Academy, and publicized his allegiance to discourage rival recruiters. Ning Fengzhi later declined to recruit Qi Dao partly to preserve his relationship with his disciple 38 42 47.
From Patronage to Personal Loyalty
Xue Qinghe cultivated trust through sustained attention to Qi Dao’s family, including gifts, medicinal pills, and instructions that local officials treat his parents courteously. Before his third soul-ring hunt, she supplied the Heaven-Deceiving Cloak and secretly added Snake Lance Douluo to his protection. Qi Dao responded by promising to keep her safe for life 58 59.
His near-death encounter with Fallen Soul Masters frightened and enraged her. She asked Qian Daoliu to deploy the Angel Legion against them and arranged a thousand-year soul bone for Li Luo, who had lost an arm protecting Qi Dao. By this point, she regarded Qi Dao as more than a useful subordinate—possibly as a younger brother 66 67.
She later sheltered his parents after his confrontation with Tang Hao, protected him politically following his clash with Xue Beng, and arranged an exchange with Sword Douluo. When Qi Dao gained the ability to strengthen Peerless by consuming metal, she mobilized Spirit Hall’s stockpiles and discreet purchases in Gengxin City to supply him 70 86 102 104.
Tournament Intervention and Identity Reveal
Xue Qinghe refused to expel Qi Dao to accommodate Yu Xiaogang’s demands, accepting Qin Ming’s resignation instead. During the tournament, she used her authority as Saintess to arrange Heaven Dou’s matchup with Shrek, recalling both Qi Dao’s grievances and Shrek’s humiliation of Heaven Dou Academy’s second team 105 116.
She also secured a seventy-thousand-year soul bone for the championship prize. After Qi Dao rejected Bibi Dong’s offer of a fifty-thousand-year soul bone and a guaranteed hundred-thousand-year soul ring, she became confident enough to consider revealing herself. She advocated formal rewards for all seven Heaven Dou champions upon their return 126 130 135 137.
In private, she asked whether Qi Dao would remain loyal if “Brother Xue” were neither the Crown Prince nor truly Xue Qinghe. He affirmed that his loyalty belonged to the person, not the title. She then dropped her disguise, and their familiar sibling address changed from “Brother Xue” to “Sis” 136 137.
Cultivation and the Succession Plan
Qian Renxue declined Qian Daoliu’s suggestion to begin the Angel God trials because doing so would require abandoning her infiltration. She instead sought further pieces of the Angel God Armor. After reaching Level 70, she accompanied Qi Dao on a joint soul-ring hunt and subsequently negotiated with Dugu Bo to exchange soul bones for immortal herbs 126 137 146.
Her rapid growth made waiting for Xue Ye’s natural death impractical. Following Qian Daoliu’s instruction to settle Heaven Dou’s affairs and return before obtaining her ninth ring, she activated a poisoning plan. A Spirit Hall specialist administered a slow-acting mixture intended to kill Xue Ye without exposing her involvement 146 151.
Her larger strategy was to unify Heaven Dou’s territory, fake her assassination by Star Luo experts, and have Qi Dao lead a retaliatory war. With Xue Beng and Xue Xing eliminated, Xue Ke would become a figurehead while Spirit Hall established itself as the state religion under the principle of “Divine Right of Kings.” Qi Dao pledged his support 151 152.
Accession to the Throne
Acting on Qi Dao’s warning, Qian Renxue placed informants around Xue Beng and Xue Xing. She deliberately leaked that she intended to eliminate Xue Beng after taking power, pushing him toward an assassination attempt that would justify his public condemnation 171.
When Xue Ye died, Xue Beng attacked her in the emperor’s bedchamber. Snake Lance and Porcupinefish Douluo defeated his fighters; his trusted strategist Yuan Fang was actually her planted agent. The ministers condemned Xue Beng and Xue Xing, both were executed, and Xue Qinghe ascended the throne the following day 172 173.
Reforms, Exposure, and Opposition
Within three months, she stabilized the court and introduced popular policies. She then reclaimed authority over the Heston Duchy, stripped its Grand Duke of his title, recovered unpaid taxes, and implemented administrative and social reforms. Reduced taxes and labor obligations, together with harsh punishment of corrupt nobles, earned her substantial public support 175 177 185 189.
Bibi Dong feared that her daughter’s success would threaten her control of Spirit Hall. She secretly ordered Qian Renxue’s identity leaked to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Ning Fengzhi refused to support an attempt to depose her, while the dragon clan contacted the kingdoms—particularly Balak—to build opposition 175 176 185 186.
Even after the exposure became public, many commoners continued to support Emperor Qinghe on the strength of her rule. Qian Renxue remained composed and did not suspect Bibi Dong, reasoning that her mother had originally proposed the infiltration. She subsequently visited Ning Fengzhi with Qi Dao and the Snow Empress, seeking an arrangement that would make the sect a vassal of Spirit Hall 189 190 191 195.
Appearance
As Xue Qinghe, she presents a composed, refined imperial persona with a serene noble bearing. Years later, Qi Dao notices little change beyond a more mature and polished appearance 32 58.
- True appearance: Described as a stunning blonde woman when acting openly as Spirit Hall’s Saintess 116.
- Disguised appearance: Reproduces Xue Qinghe’s body and voice, rather than merely changing clothing or concealing her face 126.
- Controlled presentation: Maintains the disguise through etiquette and behavior, including a convincing display of grief beside Xue Ye’s deathbed 137 172.
Personality
Xue Qinghe combines gracious manners with deliberate political calculation. She cultivates the image of a virtuous ruler, judges promising recruits personally, and prefers sustained generosity over treating valuable allies as disposable subordinates. Her confidence in reading people does not prevent her from quietly verifying their claims 33 34 58.
Her attachment to Qi Dao develops beyond recruitment. She becomes frightened when he risks his life, worries that revealing her identity might cost his friendship, and takes pleasure in his choosing to visit her first. His advancement also awakens her competitive pride and motivates her to cultivate harder 67 86 98 151.
That warmth is highly selective. She poisons political rivals, manipulates an assassination attempt to legitimize executions, and considers killing Ning Fengzhi if he refuses cooperation. Her effective governance and concern for Spirit Hall’s reputation coexist with a willingness to use lethal coercion 146 171 173 174.
Abilities and Skills
Soul-Bone Disguise
Her first Angel God Armor soul bone grants the Disguise Skill underlying the Xue Qinghe identity 126.
- Imitates physical appearance, voice, and martial soul 126.
- Sustains an impersonation convincing enough to deceive the imperial family and Ning Fengzhi for years 176.
- Does not supply the original prince’s memories; the fabricated amnesia story covers this weakness 176.
- Requires operational discipline: she insists that planted subordinates address her as “Your Highness” to avoid accidental exposure 36.
Six-Winged Angel and Angel Domain
Qian Renxue possesses the Six-Winged Angel martial soul and Angel Domain 126 161.
- The seventh soul ring’s Martial Soul Avatar enables fuller, controllable use of her innate domain; an older ring unlocks more of its potential 141.
- At Level 86, she initially believes her cultivation and domain could defeat Qi Dao, but reassesses after learning the extent of his self-created techniques 161.
- Her access to the Angel God inheritance remains a future opportunity; she postpones the trials to complete her mission 126 146.
Intelligence and Political Manipulation
She maintains informants, concealed Spirit Hall personnel, and powerful protectors throughout her imperial career 34 171.
- Investigates recruits through records and background reports 34 37.
- Plants Yuan Fang as Xue Beng and Xue Xing’s trusted adviser and enforcer 171 173.
- Uses covert tax investigations to prepare action against disobedient vassal states 174.
- Detects the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s attempts to organize the kingdoms against her 186.
Governance and Patronage
Her influence extends beyond personal combat strength 147.
- Commands the loyalty of Heaven Dou Academy’s three Soul Douluo commissioners and most of the four thousand soul masters attached to the imperial family 147.
- Draws on Spirit Hall’s treasury and outside procurement networks to support Qi Dao’s cultivation 102.
- Uses an established team of officials to implement reforms after reclaiming imperial authority 185.
- Rewards loyal service, including continued resources for Li Luo after his disabling injury 67 164.
Equipment and Resources
- Angel God Armor — The Angel Clan’s inherited soul-bone set. She absorbed one piece in childhood; Qian Daoliu later judges that her soul power permits two additional pieces. Using all six together can awaken them to the hundred-thousand-year level 126.
- Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone — An immortal herb arranged for her by Qi Dao that contributes to her rise to Level 86 151.
- Deep Blue Ring — A storage soul tool with nine cubic meters of space, given to Qi Dao as compensation for her initial doubt 33.
- Heaven-Deceiving Cloak — A black soul tool that conceals the wearer’s presence, gifted to Qi Dao before his dangerous forest expedition 59.
- Rare-metal supplies — Spirit Hall stockpiles and bulk purchases gathered for Peerless’s evolution through Qi Dao’s Gold-Devouring Fang 102 104.
- Divine Edge Shadowless Right Arm Bone — A seventy-thousand-year tournament prize she arranged for Qi Dao 126 137.
Relationships
- Qi Dao — Protégé, trusted confidant, and strategic partner. Their patronage relationship becomes a personal sibling bond; he remains loyal after learning her identity. Jealous-sounding remarks suggest affection beyond that framing, but no confirmed romance is established 59 136 137 151.
- Qian Daoliu — Grandfather and principal supporter within Spirit Hall. Supplies resources and protection while urging her not to sacrifice her divine prospects indefinitely for Heaven Dou 125 126 146.
- Bibi Dong — Mother and political rival. Proposed the infiltration, then secretly exposed it when Qian Renxue’s success threatened her authority; Qian Renxue remains unaware of the betrayal 175 190.
- Ning Fengzhi — Teacher under her assumed identity. Their long association initially helps keep Qi Dao under her patronage and later discourages Ning from supporting her overthrow 47 70 185.
- Snake Lance Douluo — Covert protector and trusted operative, addressed as “Uncle She.” Handles protection assignments, communications with Qian Daoliu, and the suppression of Xue Beng’s attack 59 146 173.
- Porcupinefish Douluo / Pufferfish Douluo / Ci Xue — Covert protector and agent. Carries her request for the Angel Legion campaign and helps eliminate the succession conspiracy 67 173.
- Li Luo — Senior retainer entrusted with Qi Dao’s safety. His lost arm earns him a soul-bone reward and continued cultivation support 58 67 164.
- Dugu Bo — Cooperative ally through Qi Dao. Accepts her identity, trades immortal herbs for soul bones, and privately worries that her closeness to Qi Dao could threaten Dugu Yan’s prospects 137 146.
- Xue Ye — Emperor and supposed father under her disguise. She preserves the appearance of filial loyalty while arranging his death and succession 151 172.
- Xue Beng and Xue Xing — Political rivals whom she provokes into a failed assassination attempt and has executed for treason 171 173.
