Luo Yunji and Zhang Xiaofan joined the search for the Western Dead Swamp’s treasure, where Luo Yunji claimed the Yellow Bird and gathered allies around the giant tree. Luo Yunji then established a Ghost Market and charged cultivators to pass through the miasma, leaving Qinglong and Youji wondering why he was allowing so many into the Inner Swamp.

• Tian Buyi took the subdued strange beasts to Big Bamboo Peak, while Su Ru made Tian Linger and Luo Yunji kneel before the ancestral portrait and scolded them.
• Zhang Xiaofan brought Wild Dog Daoist to meet Blackheart Elder, and Wild Dog recognized him as the Blood Refining Hall’s founder and bowed to him.
• Azure Cloud Sect sent its younger disciples west to investigate a rumored treasure, while Tian Linger and Bi Yao also headed toward the Dead Swamp.
• Luo Yunji traveled into the swamp with Long Zi and Dahei, fought the Yellow Bird, and eventually won its submission after the Two Mountains group joined the battle.
• Zhang Xiaofan reunited Tian Linger with Lin Jingyu, and Luo Yunji brought soldiers and companions from Two Mountains to build a temporary palace beside the giant tree.
• Luo Yunji reunited Wuluo with her body and gathered the Soul Spirits, soldiers, and supplies around the giant tree before establishing a Ghost Market.
• Luo Yunji and the Quadruplets charged cultivators to cross the miasma, while the Longevity Hall disciples paid with herbs, gold, and an IOU.
• Yuyangzi and Longevity Hall entered the bustling Ghost Market, where Luo Yunji dismissed the collected goods as Qinglong and Youji questioned why he was letting cultivators into the Inner Swamp.

Luo Yunji recovered his emotions, learned more about the Deity’s plans for the Great Calamity, and turned the Heavenly Emperor’s Treasury into a cultivation ground. After the group pursued the Fish Monsters and investigated Incense Valley, Zheng Dali descended into a mysterious well and failed to return.

• Luo Yunji entered the Treasury of the Heavenly Emperor, saw the Heavenly Book’s Third Scroll, and learned from the Deity about the Heavenly Dao, the Great Calamity, and his own restored emotions.
• Luo Yunji’s sudden emotional outbursts alarmed the Big Bamboo Peak disciples, while He Dazhi concealed the treasury entrance and Tian Buyi recalled Luo Yunji’s childhood mischief to Duan Ming.
• The Ghost King found Bi Yao in the Inner Swamp, then realized Luo Yunji’s soul had become whole as the young cultivator cried and laughed uncontrollably.
• Luo Yunji froze the treasury to keep Long Zi from taking Little Dragon, then negotiated with Yuyangzi to secure medicine and a future route into the Nether Abyss.
• Luo Yunji turned the treasury into a cultivation ground, but he and Zhang Xiaofan later left to pursue Fish Monsters who had stolen his Bamboo Bag, trapping Xiao Yicai and the other cultivators inside.

Zhang Xiaofan and his companions rescued Xiaobai, recovered Luo Yunji’s Bamboo Bag, and returned to the Azure Cloud Sect to refine pills and reunite Xiaobai with Xiao Liu. Luo Yunji then set off for the Southern Border with Xiaobai, while Zhang Xiaofan became entangled in Jin Ping'er’s confrontation with Incense Valley and helped her escape.

• Zhang Xiaofan and his companions freed the Nine-Tailed Sky Fox from the Profound Fire Altar, and she joined them as Xiaobai.
• Xiaobai guided the group through the Fish Monsters’ underwater passage, where they recovered Luo Yunji’s Bamboo Bag from a hidden city.
• Luo Yunji opened the Heavenly Emperor’s Treasury for the Azure Cloud disciples, and Tian Buyi refined its inner core into twenty-seven pills.
• Xiaobai reunited with Xiao Liu in Sanfu Town, while the group prepared the treasury and tested the pills on the spirit beasts.
• Luo Yunji secretly took Xiaobai and the Yin Orb to the Southern Border, and Zhang Xiaofan caught up with them at an inn.
• Zhang Xiaofan reflected on his past killings and heard Xiaobai explain that the Ghost King Sect’s headquarters stood on the Fox Clan’s former home.

Zhang Xiaofan and Luo Yunji clashed with Incense Valley after its disciples pursued them, and Luo Yunji destroyed the valley’s Profound Fire Altar before publicly spreading its cultivation method. As news of the great calamity spread, Luo Yunji fled to the Imperial City and then set out with Ghost King for the Nether Abyss.

• Zhang Xiaofan and his companions reached Qili Cave, where Luo Yunji reunited with them just as the Miao Tribe came under attack and Zhang Xiaofan lost control, slaughtering warriors from both sides.
• Luo Yunji confronted Shangguan Ce over Zhang Xiaofan’s injuries, fought him with the Ghost Umbrella, and later went to Incense Valley after Shangguan Ce took Lu Xueqi and Faxiang hostage.
• Luo Yunji’s ice attacks triggered a volcanic eruption that devastated Incense Valley, and he and Zhang Xiaofan battled Yun Yilan before leaving the valley as it erupted again.
• After Luo Yunji recovered at Two Mountains, he released Incense Valley’s core cultivation method and its counter-method, while the cultivation world prepared for the great calamity.
