Silvan followed behind Dumbledore. The two crossed the grounds shrouded in night, neither speaking a word.

Hagrid did not follow them. He believed that since Dumbledore had returned to the school, there was nothing to worry about. Before long, whoever coveted the Philosopher's Stone would surely be dealt with.

Fluffy needed him more. The poor little thing must have been in terrible pain. Hagrid's heart clenched again and again, and he could not help crying.

It was all because of that shameless, despicable thief. Once Professor Dumbledore caught the culprit, Hagrid would definitely teach him a proper lesson.

While Hagrid tended to Fluffy, Dumbledore and Silvan had already entered the castle and stopped again in the Entrance Hall.

The castle had been thrown into complete chaos by the three-headed dog. Twisted, warped staircases hung precariously in midair; shattered marble railings lay scattered across the floor; and the portraits on the walls screamed in panic, scrambling into safer frames.

The professors who had heard the commotion had all come out as well. McGonagall was the first to approach.

"I know all about it, Minerva," Dumbledore said before she could speak. "Were any students hurt?"

"Thankfully, no. I was truly relieved when I heard the news," McGonagall said sharply. "I told you long ago that keeping a three-headed dog in the castle would cause trouble sooner or later. Fortunately, no students were caught up in it this time."

"In fact, one was," Dumbledore said.

"What did you say?" McGonagall immediately tensed, her voice trembling slightly. "Who was it? How are they now?"

"He should be fine. Or you can ask him yourself." Dumbledore shifted slightly to one side.
