Chapter 710: Dumbledore's Weakness
Dumbledore arrived even faster than expected. Less than ten minutes later, he pushed open the door and walked in from outside.
"I received word from Everard that there had been an attack at the school," Dumbledore said to a portrait on the wall. "Thank you, Everard."
A sallow-faced wizard with short black bangs opened his eyes and nodded.
"Professor, it was Crabbe and Goyle!" Harry said impatiently, stepping forward to repeat what had just happened.

Dumbledore spoke softly. "By your account, they must have been panicking at the time. They tried to use a Dark magic item to kill their classmates, and when that failed, they used the absolutely forbidden Fiendfyre Curse.
"They had already gone completely mad. They would surely have used every means possible against anyone who tried to stop them from escaping.
"Not only you, but everyone nearby would have been in danger—you cannot extinguish Fiendfyre."
"Fiendfyre?" Harry frowned. "Professor McGonagall seemed to mention it too. What is it?"
"A form of Dark magic, and one of the most dangerous and terrifying kinds," Dumbledore said. "This magical fire devours everything, and it cannot be extinguished by ordinary means."
