"We just finished it ten minutes ago."

When Fred and George returned to the wand shop, they immediately showed Silvan their newly invented product.

It looked rather like an old-fashioned radio, roughly the size of two Quaffles, with a long needle sticking out from the top. It looked quite heavy, and Fred had it hanging around his neck in a leather pouch.

Silvan looked at the thing and raised an eyebrow thoughtfully.

"Why does it look a little like the one Filch uses?"

Previously, to keep students from bringing Dark Magic items into the school, Filch would always carry a strange instrument and inspect every student passing through the castle gates.

The moment it detected anything connected to Dark Magic on them, whether prank items or spellbooks, it would immediately emit a piercing alarm.

"Dark Magic Detector." George shrugged. "We heard Ron mention it. It's a product from the last century, but it's still useful now."

"But we've made a better one." Fred set the thing from around his neck on the counter.

"We made a few more modifications to it."

"Now it has a wider range. You don't need to get close before it can find traces of Dark Magic."

"And it's more sensitive—"

"Even if Dark Magic was used a week ago, it can pick it up."
