"What does this secret passage lead to?"
Faced with Harry's question, Silvan merely shook his head. "I never knew there was a secret passage here."
"You mean it just appeared?" Hermione stepped forward and asked.
"That's right. It probably appeared along with Ariana's passage." Silvan opened the cabinet door and peered inside.
Below the stairs was a smooth passageway, with the same brass lamps they had just seen burning along both walls.
Silvan was the first to step onto the stone stairs.
"Be careful!" Hermione said nervously, grabbing Silvan's robe from behind.
"I want to see where this passage leads." Silvan turned to look at them. "Are you coming with me, or do you want to rest first?"
"I'm going with you."
"Me too."
Harry and Hermione spoke almost at the same time.
Though they were both exhausted, their eyelids drawn together like magnets, they still chose to go with Silvan.
After all, a mysterious passage had suddenly appeared in their room. No one knew where it led—perhaps some corridor in the school, a professor's office, or worst of all, the headmaster's office.
What if someone sneaked in from the other side while they were asleep? Until they figured it out, they would not be able to sleep even if they lay down in bed.
Thinking of that, they both turned to look at Ron, who was sleeping peacefully, and felt a strange twinge of envy.
If they had gone to bed earlier too, would they not have had to worry about all this troublesome nonsense—
But thoughts were just thoughts. They still followed Silvan into the passage.
The stairs were long and maze-like, with unexpected turns everywhere. The brass lamps on either side were not bright enough, so they had to use Lumos as well to see the path
