On that vast grassland, a group of angels found themselves in a desperate situation.
They fought hard to fend off the monsters attacking from all directions, the faces of every angel etched with tension and resolve.
Gabriel swung his longsword, light flashing as he struck down the monsters lunging at him one by one; Raphael brandished his staff, unleashing powerful magical energy in an attempt to block the monsters' advance; Sraosha relied on his agile movements to weave and dodge through the swarm.
Mu Fengyu, however, lay leisurely on a lounge chair, a mocking smile hanging on his lips as he occasionally cheered the angels on.
He seemed to enjoy the sensation of watching the battle, completely indifferent to whether the angels lived or died.
After a fierce struggle, the angels' stamina gradually failed. One by one, they fell under the monsters' attacks, their blood flowing onto the grass.
Finally, the last unnamed angel player could not escape his fate and was ruthlessly shredded by the storm summoned by Tryon.
At this moment, only Gabriel, Raphael, and Sraosha remained on the field.
The three of them stood back-to-back, gasping for air, their eyes filled with despair and rage. Looking at the endless stream of monsters surrounding them and the relaxed Mu Fengyu, their hearts were heavy with resentment.
They were trapped in a dead end with no hope of escape. Yet, they still gripped their weapons tightly, preparing for a final struggle; even if they were to die, they would die with dignity.
Mu Fengyu remained lazily on his lounge chair, looking at Gabriel, Raphael, and Sraosha, his mocking smile deepening as he jeered.
"You think you can struggle? How utterly ridiculous."
Hearing this, the flames of anger in the trio's hearts burned even brighter. Gritting their teeth and tightening their grip on their weapons, they launched a desperate counterattack against Mu Fengyu.
However, before they could even get close, they were blocked by spider silk released by the combined efforts of Atipus and Atra.
The tough silk acted like a cage, binding them firmly. Immediately after, Atipus and Atra worked together to toss them into the giant pit left by the skill Putika had used earlier.
Subsequently, a large amount of soil was dumped into the pit, burying the three of them.
Mu Fengyu watched all of this with a cruel smile on his face, even having someone sprinkle some fertilizer on top, as if performing an absurd ritual.
Just like that, Gabriel, Raphael, and Sraosha were buried deep in the earth. Their HP gradually vanished, as if they had truly "ascended" to heaven, leaving only the cold and ruthless figures of Mu Fengyu and his companions on the vast grassland.
Watching the three buried figures, Mu Fengyu muttered to himself.
"I wonder if Michael managed to escape. If he did, how far could he have gone? Before entering, I used a GM item to seal the entire dungeon area; there's no way he could have gotten out."
Outside, Michael stood like the boss of a horror dungeon, an unsettling aura radiating from his body.
The once-holy angel was now completely filled with an aura of evil and corruption.
His pitch-black wings were covered in shocking cracks, and his tattered armor appeared grayish-brown, as if he had endured countless brutal battles and hardships.
His wild hair danced like frantic threads, and his cold, evil expression clearly signaled that he had become a fallen angel.
Those who had once betrayed the guild fell one after another under his attacks, their blood staining the ground red.
Beside him, the scarred, wingless angel stood guard silently, his gaze firm and loyal.
Apart from the corpses littering the ground, the only one left was Siyou Qilong, protected by a barrier. He watched everything happening before him in terror, silently praying for Mu Fengyu to return quickly, lest his "Little Siyou" turn into a "Little Dead-long."
Michael slowly turned his head toward Siyou Qilong, his eyes revealing endless indifference and resolve. Siyou Qilong felt as if he were being stared at by the Grim Reaper, his heart filled with despair.
Michael walked toward Siyou Qilong step by step, each stride feeling as if it were landing on Siyou Qilong's heart. The wingless angel followed closely behind, ready to deal with any situation.
As Michael drew closer, Siyou Qilong found it difficult to breathe. He tried to call for help, but found his throat blocked by something, unable to make a sound.
Finally, Michael reached the barrier. He raised his hand, and a powerful force gathered in his palm. Siyou Qilong widened his eyes, his gaze filled with fear.
At this critical moment, Mu Fengyu flashed into existence, appearing instantly before Michael. A powerful force erupted, blowing Michael aside like a gale.
A flicker of shock crossed Michael's eyes, but he quickly returned to his cold, callous expression.
Mu Fengyu turned to look at Siyou Qilong and asked curiously.
"Little Siyou, what exactly happened just now?"
Siyou Qilong said with a trembling voice.
"Not long after the captain entered the domain, the wingless angel broke in. He withstood the traps you set and delivered a red gem to Michael."
"I don't know what Michael did, but the gem suddenly vanished, and then a strange black item appeared in his hand out of thin air."
"Then he used that item and became like this. Not only did he recover all his HP, but he also killed all the other angels with ease."
Mu Fengyu frowned, falling into deep thought. He realized that the situation had become much more complicated.
He looked at Michael, his eyes filled with vigilance and doubt. Silently using a detection spell, he was shocked to find a glaring "Fallen" status in Michael's status bar.
Mu Fengyu looked at Michael and said in surprise.
"You used a [Thermal Stone]?"
Michael sneered and mocked.
"So you know about the [Thermal Stone]. Right, you are the champion of this Duel King tournament; one of the rewards was supposedly a special item containing information on World-class items."
"If I didn't use the [Thermal Stone], was I supposed to just wait here to die? Or save it for you, so you could inherit the assets of the Tears of Angels?"
In truth, Michael had originally intended to use the [Thermal Stone] to temporarily obtain another World-class item, [Sin Incarnate]—the World-class item that allows one to transform into a Seven Deadly Sins world boss.
However, the GM had rejected his request, citing an insufficient quantity of [Thermal Stone]. He had no choice but to settle for the lesser divine artifact, [Fallen Avatar]. This item allowed him to temporarily fall and transform into a boss of his own race, and when combined with a guild weapon capable of enlargement, he could wipe out the invaders all by himself.
