"Don't let these guys run away, catch them!"
"You dare snatch a boss from us Storm Horn members and blow up our warehouse, yet you don't dare face us head-on?"
Forty or fifty Minotaurs sprinted across the ice, dodging skills flying from ahead. A dozen people were fleeing while casting spells to disrupt them.
"Chirp!" An arrow shot down from above, radiating an orange glow. In the blink of an eye, it transformed into a flying bird and dove straight into the Minotaur ranks.
The explosive shockwave shattered the ice beneath their feet. The surface cracked inch by inch, and several Minotaur players accidentally tumbled into the fissures.
Arrows rained down one after another, widening the cracks in the ice. Just then, reinforcements arrived behind them.
A white-furred Minotaur pressed both hands against the ice. A white magic circle traced itself onto the surface, stabilizing the ice that had been on the verge of collapsing.
The fissures gradually sealed shut. The reinforcements merged with the main force, while the fleeing group ahead, ignoring their dwindling MP, frantically cast speed-boosting spells on themselves and their companions.
"These Minotaurs really have bull-headed tempers. They've chased us across two regions now, haven't they?"
"Huff, huff, huff... it's already been two regions. And it's all because you didn't gather accurate intel; I'm about to reach my limit."
Genjiro watched the relentless pursuers and couldn't help but complain. Bellriver pointed out the more accurate data and blamed him for being unreliable.
"Alright, let's stop talking about these meaningless things. Let's figure out how to drop combat and teleport out of here."
"I still have a few high-level teleportation scrolls. Let's give these to Bukubukuchagama and Tianmu first so they can leave with the loot."
As he spoke, he took several scrolls from his inventory to distribute, then turned to look at Momonga.
"Lord Momonga, please use your invincible brain to think of a way, or we're really going to get 'cuckolded' by these Minotaurs to our faces."
"Don't be anxious, let me think carefully."
Momonga struggled to recall the surrounding terrain. After all, with only a dozen people, it was impossible to wipe out seventy pursuers, unless an avalanche came right now and crushed them all.
Suddenly, inspiration struck Momonga. He remembered a steep cliff not far ahead. As long as they could reach it and stand at the highest point, they would be fine.
If he could get Peroroncino to attack the cliff from a distance and dislodge the accumulated snow, it would temporarily delay them, allowing a few of them to use the teleportation scrolls to escape early.
The remaining members could then scatter and flee, which would not only split up the pursuing force but also provide a chance to slip away.
"Everyone, follow me! There's a cliff ahead; we'll climb it. Then, I'll have Peroroncino attack the coordinates I give him on my signal. After that, we'll scatter and look for a chance to escape."
On the other side of the ice field, after Peroroncino received the coordinates from Momonga, he drew his bowstring, and a golden arrow appeared out of thin air.
Streams of light converged onto the arrow, and dense arrays of golden arrows manifested behind him. He would strike with full force the moment Momonga gave the order.
Although the Minotaur race naturally lacked agility, making speed their major weakness, their stamina was among the best in the game.
Momonga and the others had slowed down due to depleted stamina. If the Minotaurs just persisted a little longer, they would be able to surround them.
They climbed the cliff peak with great difficulty. Momonga immediately signaled, and Peroroncino, upon receiving it, unleashed his charged attack. The dense rain of arrows was far more powerful than the last.
Countless firebirds flew across the sky, gradually converging into a lifelike phoenix. The phoenix let out a long cry and slammed directly into the middle of the cliff.
The Minotaur players saw the terrifying attack and unleashed various defensive spells. Although it didn't cause them much damage, Momonga's main goal had been achieved.
The snow on the cliff began to fall. First a small patch slid, and gradually, the entire snowpack on the cliff tumbled downward.
Momonga breathed a sigh of relief and immediately urged Bukubukuchagama and the others to leave.
"Alright, it's safe for now. Bukubukuchagama, you all should use the scrolls to leave first."
"What about you guys?"
Even though they knew the items Mu Fengyu gave them were top-tier, they were still worried that Momonga and the others wouldn't be able to escape.
Mu Fengyu patted his chest carefully and said proudly, "Bukubukuchagama, you can rest assured and leave. Leave the rest to me."
"It's fine, you all should go first."
"Yeah, even if you don't leave, your stamina is bottoming out. Staying behind will only drag us down."
After much persuasion, Bukubukuchagama and the others decisively used teleportation magic and quickly left the scene.
The pursuers below had shaken off the avalanche. Behind Momonga and the others was a precipice; falling from there would result in zero HP.
Meanwhile, the Minotaur troops slowly closed in. They didn't seem worried that the group would choose to jump to their deaths, because in their eyes, even if the opponents jumped, they would only leave behind a pile of useless loot.
"This area is a real headache; it actually forbids the use of flight items and magic."
"Momonga, you all use teleportation to leave first. I'll buy you some time."
"What about you?"
"Don't worry, I won't drop any items even if I die."
"Don't forget, I have an item that prevents death drops on me."
Mu Fengyu smiled and comforted them.
With that, he walked toward the bottom without hesitation, giving no one a chance to react. Seeing this, Momonga wanted to stop him, but Ulbert patted his shoulder and shook his head.
Subsequently, the group began waiting for the combat-drop timer. As soon as they were out of combat, they could use teleportation magic to leave this dangerous place.
However, all of this depended on Mu Fengyu holding out for five minutes.
Mu Fengyu didn't look back; he drew his weapon to face the approaching enemies.
After all, that was the promise he had made to him, to them—no matter the cost, he had to overcome the collapse—apologies, wrong script—he had to hold out until they left.
Mu Fengyu closed his eyes, and complex magic circles rapidly assembled in his hands.
He took an hourglass-like item from his inventory; this was his true secret weapon.
Seeing Mu Fengyu's actions, the enemies below hurriedly launched their attacks. Minotaur-shaped projections and giant axes flew at him as if they cost nothing.
However, facing this tidal wave of attacks, Mu Fengyu only glanced at them indifferently and crushed the item in his hand without hesitation.
The super-tier magic, [Mirror Lake], was instantly activated.
Under the gaze of Momonga and the others, the enemies below miraculously vanished. Without the threat of the enemy, they successfully dropped combat status and were able to use teleportation magic to leave.
However, just after Momonga and the others successfully teleported away, Mu Fengyu suddenly reappeared on the spot. He stood motionless after emerging, and as a gust of wind blew, he tipped over backward.
