Chen Xuanzi returned to Taihua Sect’s declining Whisperwind Island as a figure widely believed to be petty, cowardly, and incapable. He immediately overturned that perception: he entrusted the island’s century of accounts to Yu Shanglu without review, disciplined Hong Tianyan for compromising the sect’s standards, took Ying Yuan as a personal disciple, and revealed that he had survived the Second Nine Heavenly Tribulation. 689

At the disciple-acceptance ceremony, he restored Whisperwind Island’s ruined protective formation with a single breath of Pure Yang True Qi.
