In Grizzly Hills, the Blackrock Expeditionary Force held no advantage in troop numbers. Jorin Deadeye faced off against Danath Trollbane of Amberpine Lodge at Conquest Hold, while Rend confronted Archbishop Turalyon of the Moonbrook Brigade at Oneqwah Keep.
On the eastern coast of Grizzly Hills, the Forsaken fleet had tied down the Night Elf forces. Coupled with the Worgen of Bloodmoon Isle, the Night Elves were currently unable to spare any manpower.
But the greatest problem was that the Furbolgs, the dominant power in Grizzly Hills, had sided with the Alliance. Oneqwah Keep was under Furbolg attack almost every day.
There were hundreds of thousands of Furbolgs, a force comparable even to the Scourge. Although most wielded only simple wooden spears and bows, their numbers were simply too great, and there were many Druids and Shamans among them.
To hold Oneqwah Keep, they brought over the Hand of Blackhand, the combat airship stationed at Blackrock Stronghold. Only with a combat airship that the Furbolgs could not reach, equipped with weapons of mass destruction, could Oneqwah Keep be defended.
In addition, the Blackrock Expeditionary Force had the aid of the Taunka. Tormak, the Taunka chieftain of Camp Oneqwah, led Taunka warriors in actively resisting the Furbolg attacks on Oneqwah Keep.
The Furbolg attacks also happened to let the Taunka adapt to their new weapons and equipment. The strong Taunka were natural warriors, and their addition would raise the Blackrock Expeditionary Force's strength to another level.
Oneqwah Keep was far larger than the original Camp Oneqwah, so it also encompassed Winter Solstice Village, the human pioneer settlement cursed by the Worgen in the original game, as well as White Pine Trading Post.
The Worgen plague had only just begun to emerge and had yet to spread to the hunter village of Winter
