On Ysera and Alexstrasza

I never understood why Alexstrasza, the Red Dragon Queen, and Ysera, the Green Dragon Queen, had so many fans.

First of all, among the five Dragon Aspects, Malygos, the Blue Dragon King, was the most learned and kind-hearted, while Neltharion, the Black Dragon King, was the most responsible. The credit for defeating Galakrond had also belonged to those two.

I could understand if people liked those two, but I really did not understand why Alexstrasza, the Red Dragon Queen, and Ysera, the Green Dragon Queen—who had little characterization and rather average storylines—had so many fans.

Let's start with Alexstrasza, the Red Dragon Queen. Neltharion and Malygos had clearly been the greatest contributors to defeating Galakrond, yet Alexstrasza was bestowed as the queen and leader of all dragons. That was truly absurd.

The Red Dragons' duty was to protect life, yet the Scourge's stronghold, which brought death to Azeroth, lay north of Dragonblight. The Red Dragonflight chose to turn a blind eye, neglecting its duty.

During the Northrend era, aside from breathing fire after the Wrathgate tragedy occurred, the Red Dragons did nothing. The only quest involving the Red Dragonflight and the Scourge was because the Scourge wanted to resurrect Galakrond. In other words, if the Scourge had not tried to resurrect Galakrond or attacked the Ruby Dragonshrine, the Red Dragonflight, supposedly protectors of life, would not have cared about the Scourge.

During the Northrend era, the Alliance, Horde, and Argent Crusade united against the Scourge, while the Red Dragonflight declared war on the Blue Dragonflight.

The damage Dalaran's Kirin Tor had done to Azeroth's ley lines was obvious to all. Even Red Dragon NPCs themselves said that the Blue Dragons had done nothing wrong, and that was indeed true.
