The enraged Spell-Weaver Malygos, the Blue Dragon King, launched a direct attack on Chromatus. His ultimate magical frost breath could freeze even Ragnaros, the Firelord and strongest of the Elemental Lords.
Yet Chromatus's blue dragon head answered with an identical magical breath. Although Chromatus's magical frost breath was not as pure as Spell-Weaver Malygos's, the destructive power contained within it was far greater, effortlessly annihilating Malygos's breath.
At the same time, his other four heads began attacking as well—black sulfurous flames, red flames of life, bronze quicksand, and green natural energy.
Caught off guard by Chromatus's ferocious assault, Spell-Weaver Malygos hastily raised a magical shield in his dragon form and retreated.
Afterward, Alexstrasza, the Red Dragon Queen, and Ysera, the Green Dragon Queen, joined the battle. Having learned from Spell-Weaver Malygos's experience and been warned by Ysera's dream, they avoided fighting the heads corresponding to their own powers as much as possible.
But although Chromatus had five heads, they shared a single mind. Like a hydra in naval warfare, the five heads coordinated seamlessly, able to switch targets and opponents at will. Their dazzling, relentless barrage caught the three Dragon Aspects completely off guard.
As for the other Dragon Aspects, even Korialstrasz, the Red Dragon Prince; Arygos, the Blue Dragon Prince; and Merithra, the Green Dragon Princess of Dreams, could not get involved.
Just as the three Dragon Aspects were being pushed into a disadvantage, Chromatus easily suppressed them. At that moment, Nozdormu the Timeless One, the Bronze Dragon King, arrived as well.
Nozdormu the Timeless One's arrival eased their disadvantage, but they remained at a disadvantage nonetheless, and it was steadily worsening.
Seizing the opportunity, Nozdormu the Timeless One used the power of the Time Guardian to freeze Chromatus's movements, urgently telling the other three Dragon Aspects to retreat.
