Background

Born Go'el, Thrall is the son of Durotan and Draka. His parents were assassinated shortly after his birth, and he was raised as a human slave before eventually winning his freedom and becoming Warchief of the Horde. His human education left him with a more cautious and conciliatory outlook than many Orc leaders. 27 115 167 849

As Warchief, Thrall led the Orcs to Kalimdor, established Durotar as their new homeland in Durotan’s memory, and earned the land’s acceptance for the Horde. His efforts also restored Azeroth’s elemental acceptance of Orc shamans who had previously been rejected. 20 21

After relinquishing the Horde’s leadership to focus on looming elemental crises, Thrall became the leader of the Earthen Ring. He helped the Dragon Aspects oppose Chromatus and Deathwing, then married Agna after the Cataclysm. 803 837 849

Thrall is a strong, green-skinned Orc who normally wears black plate armor as Warchief, though he later adopts shamanic robes while serving the Earthen Ring. 803 971

Personality

Thrall is notably humble and courteous despite his authority and strength. During the quilboar campaign, he welcomes Rend’s assistance rather than treating it as unnecessary, even while personally dominating the battlefield. 19

His experiences as a slave made freedom central to his identity. He is deeply affected by the prospect of Orcs being enslaved again and consistently acts from a sense of responsibility toward the Horde. 167 971
