Kun-Lai Summit lay at the northern end of Pandaria. Aside from the lowlands around Zouchin Village in the north, the entire region consisted of towering plateaus.

Though Kun-Lai Summit was not as fertile as the Valley of the Four Winds or as beautiful as the Jade Forest, large numbers of Pandaren still lived across this land.

It was also the area most frequented by Pandaria's native Grummles. Every day, countless Grummle caravans transported all kinds of goods along the Veiled Stair.

The Grummles were also creations of the Mogu. Their ancestors had originally been Troggs twisted from Earthen, and the Mogu had transformed those Troggs into Grummles with the Wellspring of Life left behind by the Titans in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Though these little fellows looked unremarkable and were physically frailer than even Gnomes and Goblins, they bore an important responsibility.

They helped the Shado-Pan transport supplies and goods.

Unlike the cunning, deceitful Goblins, the Grummles were kind, honest, and exceptionally hospitable.

Rend had led the remaining Dark Rider Guard to join a Grummle caravan bound for Kun-Lai Summit.

Even when the Grummle caravan encountered an unprecedented race like Rend and received a request from the dark-energy-exuding Dark Rider Guard, they did not refuse. They amiably agreed to travel with them to Kun-Lai Summit and even shared their lucky charms with Rend.

The ancient Burlap Trail connected Kun-Lai Summit and the Valley of the Four Winds, while the Veiled Stair was the road that ran along it. The endlessly stretching stairway seemed to lead straight to the heavens, shrouded in mist—hence its name.

Traveling with the Grummle caravan, Rend arrived at Tavern in the Mists, the largest and most famous waystation in the middle of the Burlap Trail.
