Unlike the rest of Stormwind, the buildings in the Dwarven District were constructed in the dwarven style. Its primary residents were Dwarves and Gnomes, and the large number of Dwarves and Gnomes settled in Stormwind showed just how solid the trust between humans, Dwarves, and Gnomes had become.
Dwarves and Gnomes shared their own particular interests: forging and research. Thus, the air throughout the Dwarven District was filled with smoke and sparks, while the ground trembled faintly from the vibrations of anvils.
Unlike the bustling other districts, few races besides Dwarves and Gnomes came here, apart from adventurers buying weapons or learning professions.
When Tauren High Chieftain Arnak Grimtotem led the Tauren legion here, he smelled a heavy scent of blood in the air beneath the smoke and sparks.
Large numbers of Bronzebeard Dwarves' corpses hung from the walls of the Dwarven District, their bodies pouring out vast quantities of blood.
The primary residents of Stormwind's Dwarven District had originally been Ironforge's Bronzebeard Dwarves. However, Alliance High King Varian Wrynn had stationed Dark Iron Queen Moira Thaurissan and Wildhammer Dwarf lord Kurdran Wildhammer here, leading to this shocking upheaval.
Moira Thaurissan had completely abandoned her identity as a Bronzebeard Dwarf princess and devoted herself wholly to serving as queen of the Dark Iron Dwarves. Combined with the Sha of Doubt's control, this caused her to launch a ruthless purge of the Wildhammer Dwarves in the Dwarven District.
Most of the Dwarves in the Dwarven District were blacksmithing craftsmen and builders. They were no match at all for the regular Dark Iron Dwarf legions. Even when they picked up weapons and resisted to the death, it had little effect.
