In the original Warlords of Draenor, Azeroth's Alliance and Horde had been militarily weaker than the Iron Horde. That was why they had destroyed the Dark Portal and united with Draenor's allies to gradually defeat the Iron Horde.
This time, the Army of the Light on Draenor was not much different from the Iron Horde of old, except the enemy they faced was far more powerful.
Though the Alliance had declined, the Horde was incomparably strong. They could not commit all their forces to Draenor, but Draenor was, after all, the Orcs' homeland. They could not tolerate the Army of the Light's desecration. The Orcs alone had deployed two hundred thousand troops.
