The Beginning of the Human-Orc War

War. The Kirin Tor, Dalaran's ruling council of mages, had always maintained that bloody conflict was the planet's eternal and only theme.

Before the Alliance of Lordaeron was established, the trolls had run rampant. Not long after humanity finally shattered the evil Troll Empire, the Empire of Arathor split apart.

Humanity enjoyed several thousand wonderful years of rapid development, eventually coming to occupy nearly all the best lands on the eastern continent.

The human kingdoms—powerful, renowned, populous, wealthy, and prosperous—this was practically everyone's perception of humanity.

That perception was finally shaken after the Orcs, having destroyed Kul Tiras, began landing in Lordaeron, Gilneas, and the Hillsbrad Foothills.

When Tonatiuh had just arrived in Stranglethorn Vale,

the war between Orcs and humans finally erupted, as though by some twist of fate. The difference was that in the original timeline, the Orcs had come overland from the north. In this timeline, they crossed the sea from the west and south.

At first, the Orcs seized most of Kul Tiras's ships. With the help of the human traitor Ashvane, these landlubbers quickly learned how to operate them, then sailed for the mainland—compared to narrow Kul Tiras, the Orcs clearly yearned for the vast continent!

The war had begun.

Lordaeron and Gilneas, the two coastal nations, bore the brunt of it as the first Orcish troops landed along their shores.

Then fierce clashes broke out.

Like a meat grinder, the war consumed countless soldiers on both sides without producing any gains. This attrition had continued for several days, and neither humans nor Orcs could yet see the end of the war.
