Background / History

Naruto was born during the Nine-Tails Incident. After Obito released the Nine-Tails, Minato Namikaze and Kushina sacrificed themselves to seal it inside their newborn son. Naruto subsequently grew up under villagers' discrimination. 1

As a lonely young child, Naruto approached Josuke, Sasuke, and Itachi at Ichiraku Ramen and nervously asked to sit with them. Josuke welcomed him despite Sasuke's initial refusal, giving Naruto one of his first meaningful friendships. Naruto and Sasuke also declared the shared ambition to become Hokage. 3
