Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Renewed Mangekyō era | 3 | Makoto's Mangekyō Sharingan ends the clan's near decade without a known Mangekyō user since Kagami's death. At this point, the clan has only fifty-three Three-Tomoe Sharingan users. 3 |
| Five active Mangekyō users | 58 | Makoto uses the secret medicine Dan to advance Fugaku, Sanjie, Hono, and Inabi from high-grade Three-Tomoe Sharingan to Mangekyō Sharingan. Their medically induced ocular power is weaker than historical natural awakenings. 58 |
| Ten-Mangekyō force | 103 | Makoto revives Kagami, Naka, Rai, Chiri, and Baru with Impure World Reincarnation, supplementing the living Mangekyō users and bringing the clan's force to ten. 103 |
| Hundred-plus super-Kage Mangekyō users | 218 | Makoto restores the ocular power of numerous Uchiha powerhouses, creating more than one hundred super-Kage-level Mangekyō Sharingan users. 218 |
| Mass Susanoo deployment | 224 | More than one hundred Uchiha Susanoo take the field against Isshiki; Makoto distributes the Susanoo Strength Technique to the clan's Mangekyō users. 224 |
| Unified ocular-technique Susanoo | 234 | Over one hundred Mangekyō users lend their ocular techniques to Makoto, enabling a thousand-meter Susanoo powered by chakra and ocular power approaching the Six Paths level. 234 |
Background / History
The Uchiha are descendants of Indra and one branch of the wider family descended from the Sage of Six Paths. Their historical conflict with the Senju Clan stems from the division between Indra and Asura, whose descendants fought for generations. 6 147 240
The clan suffered major losses during the first two Shinobi World Wars. Mangekyō users Naka, Rai, and Juri died after exhausting their ocular power near the end of the First War, while Kagami died at twenty-five during the Second. By the time of Makoto's awakening, the clan's remaining military strength was far below its former standard. 3
Senju Tobirama established the Konoha Military Police Force with Uchiha membership mandated. The force maintains public order, revises security regulations, and can arrest suspects or summon those believed likely to commit crimes, but its authority does not extend directly to the Hokage's Anbu or external missions. 1
Culture and Institutions
- Naka Shrine — The clan conducts ancestral rites at Naka Shrine and honors past Uchiha, with Madara Uchiha's memorial tablet occupying the most prominent position. 22
- Clan pride — Members react enthusiastically to the prospect of war and regard the Sharingan, inherited ninjutsu, and clan lineage as core sources of status. 3
- Education — Under Fugaku and Makoto, the clan funds special training for academy students and genin rather than relying solely on Ninja Academy instruction. 3
- Uchiha Consortium — Founded by Makoto, the consortium makes the clan financially independent enough that its members can live on clan dividends without relying on village employment. 8 169
- Golden Consortium — The Hagoromo Clan manages this affiliated commercial network in the Land of Lightning; its annual revenue surpasses that of the Uchiha Consortium. 27
Abilities & Skills
Sharingan
The Sharingan is the clan's hereditary dōjutsu. Its copying ability and the clan's extensive ninjutsu archives allow many Uchiha genin to advance rapidly toward chūnin-level combat ability. 3
- The clan has strong Fire and Lightning Release representation, making techniques such as Chidori broadly usable among its members. 2
- Three-Tomoe Sharingan users form the principal pool from which Mangekyō users can emerge. 3 58
- The bloodline is associated with exceptional chakra reserves as direct descendants of Indra. 6
Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo
Each Mangekyō user manifests personal ocular techniques in addition to Susanoo, described as the Mangekyō's third power. 58 61
- Susanoo — The clan's primary high-end battlefield weapon; it can reshape terrain, bombard enemy forces with Magatama projectiles, and contest threats that ordinary shinobi cannot confront. 19 70 234
- Ocular-power cost — Historical Mangekyō users commonly died after exhausting their ocular power, and the clan recognizes bloodline disease as a central danger of prolonged use. 3 64
- Dan-induced awakening — Dan can evolve a high-grade Three-Tomoe Sharingan into a weaker-than-natural Mangekyō, enabling rapid expansion of the clan's elite force. 58
Notable Ocular Techniques
- Ōnamuchi — Makoto's technique controls changes in energy and has produced an associated energy space. 58
- Umasiashikabi — Makoto's developing time-affecting technique slows his perception of time, allowing several minutes of subjective thought within less than a second. Its escalating chakra consumption causes exhaustion and bloody tears. 13
- Heaven-Reversing Hand / Manifest Realm — Sanjie's techniques provide short-range teleportation and access to a personal space through a space-time gate. 58
- Heavenly Rock Cave / Magatsuhi — Hono can create a shield against attacks and spiritual flames that burn souls and chakra. 58
- Bodh Gaya / Omoikane — Inabi can impair enemies' intelligence and rationality while improving his allies', as well as confuse or alter memories at an ocular-power cost. 58
Susanoo Strength Technique
Makoto derives an A-rank secret technique that condenses and strengthens Susanoo through ocular power and Yin–Yang Release. 190
- Increases Susanoo's power while improving fine control. 190
- Can shrink a Susanoo construct while multiplying its strength. 190
- Can be cultivated only by Mangekyō Sharingan users or shinobi with exceptionally high Yin Release attainment. 190
- Is later transmitted to the clan's Mangekyō users during the battle against Isshiki. 224
Equipment / Heritage Items
- Sword of Totsuka — A legendary artifact entrusted to Makoto by Fugaku; it requires the Mangekyō Sharingan to use. 4
- Yata Mirror — A Susanoo artifact originally entrusted to Makoto, later returned to its rightful owner, Uchiha Tokumitsu. 4 218
- Clan head's war fan — Transferred by Makoto to Madara Uchiha before the Ōtsutsuki battle. 218
Relationships
- Konohagakure — Founding ally and home village, but the clan's police assignment, battlefield restrictions, and political suppression create lasting distrust. 1 3 19
- Senju Clan — Distant relatives through Indra and Asura, but also the Uchiha's defining historical rivals. 147 240
- Hyūga Clan — Distant relatives; Hyūga forces support the Uchiha on the Mist front, partly to counter the Kaguya Clan's role on the opposing side. 29 32
- Kaguya Clan — Distant relatives and former enemies. Makoto negotiates a temporary border peace with Kaguya Takeori, who later becomes a key ally. 35 62
- Hagoromo Clan — Distant relatives who manage the Golden Consortium and maintain close commercial ties with the Uchiha. 27 53
- Chinoike Clan — The Uchiha guarded the Chinoike during their historical exile to Hell Valley, leaving a grievance later exploited by Kumogakure. 117
- Uzumaki Clan — Related through the wider Six Paths bloodline; Makoto saves surviving Uzumaki but also uses their position in his war planning. 12 181
Story Role / Major Arcs
Mangekyō Revival and Third Shinobi World War
Makoto's Mangekyō awakening restores the clan's confidence after decades of decline. Fugaku appoints him to oversee youth training, then leads the Uchiha to the Mist front when the Third Shinobi World War begins. 3 29
During the war, Makoto expands the clan's Mangekyō force with Dan and establishes the superiority of naturally awakened ocular power over the medicine-induced Mangekyō users. The Uchiha's battlefield performance and three openly known Mangekyō users transform public opinion in Konoha. 58 59 70
Commercial and Political Campaigns
Using the Uchiha Consortium's resources, Makoto pursues sanctions against the Land of Wind, manipulates public sentiment, and turns the Sand campaign into a political crisis for Hiruzen Sarutobi. 74 82 88
After a Root operative presents a questionable order to halt the war, Makoto frames the incident as Konoha sacrificing the Uchiha for political convenience. The clan subsequently marches on the Hokage Building with public support and demands accountability from Hiruzen. 95 97
Clan Ascendancy
When Konoha faces the Chinoike and Cloud Ninja threat, Hiruzen personally begs Makoto for assistance. Makoto ultimately leads the Uchiha to the Cloud front while preserving the clan's political leverage. 140 141 142
Makoto later restores historical Uchiha through Impure World Reincarnation, elevating the clan from a handful of Mangekyō users to a force able to challenge entire villages. 100 103
Ōtsutsuki War
With Makoto as Hokage, the clan becomes a central force against Isshiki and the invading Ōtsutsuki. Ancient Uchiha, modern clan leaders, and more than one hundred restored Mangekyō users assemble alongside allied bloodline clans. 182 218
The Uchiha's mass Susanoo formation and the fusion of their ocular techniques into Makoto's Susanoo become decisive components of the battle against Momoshiki's Ape Rock. 224 234
Trivia
- At the start of Makoto's rise, the clan counts only fifty-three Three-Tomoe Sharingan users. 3
