Background

Takeori became the Kaguya Clan's new head during the Mist front conflict. Under his command, Kaguya forces began severely wounding rather than immediately killing enemies, placing substantial strain on Konoha's medical supplies. His emergence was considered especially dangerous because ordinary Kaguya shinobi already possessed formidable offensive and defensive power. 33

His unusually pure bloodline came at a cost. Large-scale use of Shikotsumyaku steadily damaged his body, leaving him near collapse and convinced that he had less than a year to live. He nevertheless refused Makoto's suggestion that he obtain Byakugan by harming Hyūga clansmen, prioritizing loyalty to his own clan over a possible cure. 36 65

Kirigakure's elders later coerced Takeori into confronting Makoto by threatening several thousand Kaguya Clan ninja. He ultimately accepted Makoto's proposal to arrange the Third Mizukage's apparent death and elevate Takeori to the Mizukage position.
