The reason was simple: in "Douluo Continent Side Story: Legend of the Divine Realm," written by Tang San himself, the cause of Xiao Wu's mother's death was explicitly stated. She had not been killed by Bibi Dong for a soul ring. Instead, she had entered the core region of the Star Dou Great Forest to search for Xiao Wu's father, who had been missing for tens of thousands of years, and had been swallowed by an enormous creature.
