At Shrek Academy's entrance assessment, she is a twelve-year-old Rank 29 assault-system soul master, but her true nature gives her an instinctive awareness of threats from powerful humans. She knows that a Titled Douluo can see through a transformed soul beast's human disguise. 27 31 53

During Shrek's entrance assessment, Xiao Wu joins Tang San, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong in facing Zhao Wuji. She serves as the team's principal attacker while Tang San handles control, Zhu Zhuqing attacks from the flanks, and Ning Rongrong provides support. 27 She is injured and rendered unconscious after her Bewilderment soul skill clashes with Zhao Wuji's Immovable Wisdom King Body. 28

The kidnappers cannot detect Xiao Wu's soul beast aura because of the Lovesick Heartbreak Red. Yang Xing intervenes, kills Yu Luomian, defeats and captures Yu Yuanzhen, and uncovers Spirit Hall's involvement. He then reassures Xiao Wu that he will resolve the danger threatening her. 133 136 138
