Background / History

Tsunade was assigned to command a Konoha operation during the war, with a Hokage adviser accompanying her to coordinate relations among the clans. Although she held the position, her hemophobia made her increasingly unsuitable for direct battlefield command should the conflict escalate. 37

As commander, she organized Konoha’s response to the Hidden Mist and Land of Bears conspiracy. She prepared an elite advance unit led by Uchiha Saitama, supported by a main force, and ordered the complete destruction of any hostile harbor discovered during the operation. 43 Following Konoha’s victory at Kikyo Mountain, she summoned squad leaders to announce the truce with Sunagakure and raise morale. 48

After stepping down from frontline command, Tsunade continued directing treatment plans for severely injured ninja.
