Background / History

Xu Sanshi is a Shrek Academy student from the Xuanming Sect, whose inherited Martial Soul is the Dark Tortoise. His Martial Soul was meant to evolve into the Black Tortoise under a special stimulus, but a mistake during the original transformation left the evolution incomplete. The Xuanming Sect exhausted its available options before Xu Sanshi sought help from Huo Yuhao and the Spirit Pagoda. 62

He was already close with Bei Bei when he met Huo Yuhao. Introducing himself as one of the Outer Court’s Twin Stars, Xu Sanshi readily joined the group’s barbecue gatherings—usually without an invitation—and became interested in Huo Yuhao’s grilled meat. 6 10

As the Spirit Pagoda’s influence rose, the Xuanming Sect assigned Xu Sanshi to build a connection with Huo Yuhao. Xu Sanshi was reluctant and unsure how to raise the matter, but recognized that the sect might be able to pay the price for a solution to his Martial Soul problem. 31

Xu Sanshi is boisterous, shameless, and opportunistic. He casually inserts himself into Bei Bei’s gatherings, eats others’ food without ceremony, and presents snacks from his “dorm” despite sharing that dorm with Bei Bei. 6 10

He is persistently attached to Jiang Nannan, often using exaggerated or dishonest antics to remain near her, including pretending to be blind after the Mist Wolves’ attacks. Jiang Nannan consistently sees through him and reacts with open irritation. 45 47 63

Despite this behavior, Xu Sanshi is serious when others are in danger.
