Background / History

Snow Empress was captured by humans while attempting to rebuild herself into human form. The reconstruction failed, leaving her sealed in the God-Sealing Platform as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast embryo and causing her origin power to leak after her release. She initially intended to transfer her remaining origin to the Ice Empress and die, but Electrolux temporarily stabilized her through a sealing array. 25

Following Huo Yuhao's intuition, Xia Liang brought Snow Empress and the Ice Empress to the Ice God's Palace in the Extreme North. There, the deceased Ice God had prepared a succession ceremony specifically for Snow Empress. She inherited the divine position, becoming a divine spirit body and avoiding the limitations of her former soul beast status. 26

The inheritance was incomplete: the Ice God's divine position had split into ten fragments across the Extreme North. Snow Empress also learned that she should not absorb the region's power of faith, as it did not belong to her. She instead gave that faith to the Spirit Pagoda to support the evolution of Douluo Continent's world origin. 27 28

Her former soul beast body separated from her divine self but retained their shared soul. Taking the appearance of a young human girl, it formed a Spirit Descent Contract with Huo Yuhao so it could travel in the human world and operate through his Sea of Spirit. 27 28
