Background

Shui Bing'er is Shui Qinghan's elder daughter and Shui Yue'er's older sister. She was introduced at Tianshui Academy as a seven-and-a-half-year-old Rank 15 Soul Master with innate Rank 9 soul power. Her aunt, Shui Qingrou, helped teach her and Yue'er before Jiang Lan joined their household as their junior brother. 11

Following Jiang Lan's arrival, Shui Qinghan placed the three children on an intensive schedule of study, combat practice, physical conditioning, medicinal baths, and nourishing meals. Jiang Lan's Sea of Tides domain allowed Bing'er to recover from training without lingering injuries, while repeated use of whale glue strengthened her body and increased the age of soul ring she could endure. 14 15 21 22

After reaching Rank 20, Bing'er accompanied Shui Qinghan and Jiang Lan to the Far North. She cultivated in the Ten-Thousand-Year Ice Marrow Cave, whose dense ice energy could strengthen both her soul power and martial-soul origin. She later absorbed a soul ring from a just-over-three-thousand-year Ice Spirit Sparrow, gaining Ice Phoenix Staff and advancing to Rank 24. 22 26 27 30

Appearance

At her introduction, Shui Bing'er was a young girl with aqua-blue, lightly curled long hair and refined features resembling those of her mother and younger sister. 11

She is competitive but composed. Though initially determined to defeat Jiang Lan despite his unusual thousand-year first ring, she remains calm under provocation in her first Arena match and refuses to be baited by Zhang Han's taunts. 12 32

In battle, Bing'er is rational and tactical, preferring to control opponents while Jiang Lan protects her. She also displays compassion, thawing Zhang Han after defeating him rather than leaving him frozen. 32 34

Arrival of Jiang Lan

Bing'er first tests Jiang Lan in a friendly soul battle, using Ice Seal repeatedly until his domain neutralizes the attack and he reaches her from behind. She later joins Jiang Lan and Yue'er in a training battle against Shui Qinghan, where her repeated Ice Seals help force Qinghan to use power beyond the Soul Elder level. 12 13 14

Whale Glue Training

Bing'er benefits from the household's whale-glue regimen, reaching Rank 16½ after her first high-quality piece. Continued use of whale glue raises her second-ring endurance beyond 1,700 years, then to roughly 3,000 years after refining Ten-Thousand-Year Whale Glue. 18 21 22

Far North Expedition

She travels with Shui Qinghan and Jiang Lan to Dragon City and the Far North Mountains in search of cultivation resources. Bing'er meditates in the cold spring and later in the Ten-Thousand-Year Ice Marrow Cave, where the environment is especially suited to strengthening her ice attribute. 23 25 26

Second Soul Ring

Shui Qinghan helps Bing'er hunt and defeat an Ice Spirit Sparrow slightly over three thousand years old. Bing'er successfully absorbs its ring despite severe initial strain, obtaining Ice Phoenix Staff and advancing three levels from the ring itself. 30

Grand Soul Arena

Using the masked alias Ice Phoenix, Bing'er begins Arena combat in Dragon City. She defeats Zhang Han in her first one-on-one match by controlling him with Ice Seal, then teams with Jiang Lan in two-on-two matches as the offensive controller while he guards her. 31 32 34 35

Ice Marrow Cave Cultivation

After Shui Qinghan and Shui Qingrou depart on other business, Bing'er remains in the Ten-Thousand-Year Ice Marrow Cave with Jiang Lan and Yue'er for extended cultivation. She recognizes the cave as a rare opportunity to improve the origin and coldness of their ice-attributed Martial Souls. 38 40
