Background / History

Parallel timeline and the Ninth Era

Gu Yue's real memories place her shortly after awakening, when she intended to enter East Sea Academy, approach Tang Wulin, and reclaim the Golden Dragon King bloodline. However, her enrollment triggers a fate warning and floods her with memories that do not belong to her: another Gu Yue destroying an ancient human civilization as the Silver Dragon King. 7 8

In those fragments, Gu Yue finds a post-apocalyptic humanity endangered by corrupted soul beasts. Seeking to protect the soul beast race and avoid drawing the God Realm's attention, she decides humanity must be eradicated. After devouring the Ninth Era's world origin, she becomes a “complete dragon,” surpasses dimensional limits, and annihilates the world. 3 4

She later concludes that the past has been altered or that another timeline has overlapped with her era. The vision leaves her terrified of the unknown being who froze time and ended the Ninth Era. 7 8

East Sea Academy

Wu Changkong secures Gu Yue a place in East Sea Academy's Class Five by having Lin Yan's enrollment revoked. Her official form lists her as a level-fifteen student with the unexplained Martial Soul “Elemental Envoy.” 6 7

She initially accepts admission as a means of getting close to Tang Wulin and the Golden Dragon King bloodline. Her fate abruptly worsens after enrollment, creating a karmic connection affecting both her and the soul beast race. 7

Recognition of Lin Yan

After becoming trapped in Lin Yan's pot in a juvenile dragon body, Gu Yue recognizes him as the reincarnated Creator God from the memories of the Ninth Era. Her fear of him is instinctive and persists despite his present weakness. 9 11 12

She initially refuses his demand to become a soul spirit, but his threats force her to teach him a soul-spirit contract technique. When she enters the deepest part of his soul, she encounters a figure seated at the end of time and is violently expelled from his consciousness. 11 12 13

Unable to safely survive outside in her weakened state, Gu Yue decides to remain with Lin Yan despite distrusting him and resenting his treatment of her. 16

Appearance

Gu Yue commonly appears as a plump juvenile silver-white dragon, though she can assume the form of a silver-haired human child. Her weak manifested body varies in size, from roughly twenty centimeters to about half a meter long in dragon form. 10 15

  • Dragon form: Silver-white scales with a metallic sheen, purple or silver dragon eyes, a round belly, short limbs, and a swishing tail. 10 15
  • Human form: A small silver-haired girl with violet eyes, fair skin, plump cheeks, and long silver-white hair. 14
  • Durability: Her scales are hard enough that Lin Yan compares striking them to hitting iron, and boiling water cannot cook her. 8 10
  • Elemental aura: As her recovery progresses, multicolored patterns and dense elemental fluctuations appear across her scales. 22

Personality

Gu Yue is exceptionally intelligent, analytical, and proud of being the embodiment of the Dragon God's wisdom. Faced with impossible memory fragments, she quickly deduces that a parallel timeline or altered past is involved rather than accepting them at face value. 8

Her pride as the Silver Dragon King repeatedly clashes with her weakened condition. She protests being treated as food, property, a servant, or a soul spirit, but fear of Lin Yan and concern for her survival often force her into reluctant cooperation. 11 12 22

She is calculating and ambitious. After becoming a plane's Heavenly Dao, she secretly plans to recover enough strength to rebel against Lin Yan, while recognizing that she still depends on his authority over time for the world's growth. 19 20

Despite her complaints, Gu Yue develops moments of concern and domestic care: she prepares food for Lin Yan when he is starving, quietly tucks him in, and manages the world entrusted to her. 14 15 22

Abilities & Skills

Elemental Authority

Gu Yue possesses innate control over the elements as the Silver Dragon King.

  • Purifies poisonous mushroom soup with elemental power, turning it into a seven-colored concoction. 9 13
  • Can cleanse evil energy, regulate elemental balance, and guide a world's ecosystem as its Heavenly Dao. 21
  • Drains all elemental power from her world at once to provide Lin Yan with a massive reserve of world-origin power. 26
  • Her elemental control is instinctive, but sparse ambient elements and her weakened manifested body restrict her early strength. 8 9

God-Bestowed Soul Rings

Gu Yue states that, at her peak, she could directly grant soul rings and had surpassed the Dragon God. 15

  • Her recovered divine power becomes sufficient to bestow at least a hundred-year soul ring. 20
  • After strengthening the small world, she tells Lin Yan that she can create a God-Bestowed Spirit Ring. 23
  • This ability depends on her available divine power and the resources accumulated by her plane. 19 20

Heavenly Dao and Plane Authority

After contracting with Lin Yan's created world, Gu Yue becomes its will and sovereign. 19

  • Her consciousness connects to the world's land, sea, sky, matter, and life. 19
  • The plane grows by devouring external matter such as soil, rock, water, air, sunlight, and spiritual energy. 22
  • Civilizational development and elemental circulation continuously strengthen both the world and Gu Yue. 22
  • Lin Yan retains ultimate ownership and can control the world's time acceleration, leaving Gu Yue dependent on him for rapid growth. 18 20

Transformation

Gu Yue can shift between dragon and human forms.

  • Her human form is that of a silver-haired child and allows her to handle human tasks such as preparing food. 14
  • Maintaining human form consumes too much energy for long-term use in her weakened state. 15

Spatial Storage

Gu Yue can store and retrieve objects through a spatial ability.

  • Uses it to gather dirt, water, and mushrooms for Lin Yan's new world. 17
  • Stores her academy dormitory key, uniform, and textbooks in a soul storage device. 7

Soul-Spirit Contract Technique

Gu Yue knows methods for forming a soul-spirit contract and offers to guide Lin Yan through the process. 12

  • Entering Lin Yan's mind exposes her to the overwhelming entity within his sea of consciousness. 13
  • The attempt leaves both Gu Yue and Lin Yan weakened. 13

Relationships

  • Lin Yan — Her captor, reluctant ally, and the reincarnated Creator God she fears. She remains near him for protection and access to his world-creation and time-acceleration abilities, while privately planning to surpass him. 9 16 19 20
  • Di Tian — Her loyal subordinate. He identifies the Golden Dragon King aura within East Sea Academy and worries when Gu Yue is shaken by her altered memories. 8
  • Wu Changkong — Her East Sea Academy homeroom teacher, who obtains her Class Five enrollment. 6 7
  • Tang Wulin — The bearer of the Golden Dragon King bloodline whom Gu Yue originally intends to approach and reclaim power from. 7 8
  • Na'er — An incarnation Gu Yue intends to merge with if necessary while pursuing the Golden Dragon King bloodline. 7
  • Qian Yuhan and Poseidon — Reintroduced into Gu Yue's plane by Lin Yan; their divine activities and the civilization around them contribute to the world that empowers her. 21 22
