Parallel timeline and the Ninth Era

Gu Yue's real memories place her shortly after awakening, when she intended to enter East Sea Academy, approach Tang Wulin, and reclaim the Golden Dragon King bloodline. However, her enrollment triggers a fate warning and floods her with memories that do not belong to her: another Gu Yue destroying an ancient human civilization as the Silver Dragon King. 7 8

In those fragments, Gu Yue finds a post-apocalyptic humanity endangered by corrupted soul beasts. Seeking to protect the soul beast race and avoid drawing the God Realm's attention, she decides humanity must be eradicated. After devouring the Ninth Era's world origin, she becomes a “complete dragon,” surpasses dimensional limits, and annihilates the world. 3 4

She later concludes that the past has been altered or that another timeline has overlapped with her era. The vision leaves her terrified of the unknown being who froze time and ended the Ninth Era. 7 8

East Sea Academy

Wu Changkong secures Gu Yue a place in East Sea Academy's Class Five by having Lin Yan's enrollment revoked. Her official form lists her as a level-fifteen student with the unexplained Martial Soul “Elemental Envoy.” 6 7

She initially accepts admission as a means of getting close to Tang Wulin and the Golden Dragon King bloodline. Her fate abruptly worsens after enrollment, creating a karmic connection affecting both her and the soul beast race. 7

Recognition of Lin Yan

After becoming trapped in Lin Yan's pot in a juvenile dragon body, Gu Yue recognizes him as the reincarnated Creator God from the memories of the Ninth Era. Her fear of him is instinctive and persists despite his present weakness. 9 11 12

She initially refuses his demand to become a soul spirit, but his threats force her to teach him a soul-spirit contract technique. When she enters the deepest part of his soul, she encounters a figure seated at the end of time and is violently expelled from his consciousness. 11 12 13

Unable to safely survive outside in her weakened state, Gu Yue decides to remain with Lin Yan despite distrusting him and resenting his treatment of her. 16

Encounter with the original Silver Dragon King

Following the release of Destiny Power at the Spirit Pagoda, Gu Yue encounters the native Silver Dragon King of this timeline, who is also living as an East Sea Academy student. The encounter terrifies Gu Yue, who believes that two Silver Dragon Kings cannot peacefully coexist. 33 36

In response to this identity crisis, she declares that she will henceforth be called Gu Yuena. Her new identity reflects her effort to distinguish herself from the native Gu Yue and reconcile the memories associated with Gu Yue and Na'er. 37

Di Tian later recalls another timeline in which a Silver Dragon King fought the Creator God and transformed the soul beast territory into a Life Forbidden Zone. Gu Yue considers whether merging with the other Silver Dragon King may be necessary, while Di Tian's loyalty becomes divided between the lord he remembers and the Gu Yue he presently serves. 38

Independent existence

Although Gu Yuena can act as Lin Yan's Silver Dragon King Martial Soul, Yun Ming later recognizes that she is neither a Martial Soul nor a projection, but a genuine independent lifeform. Gu Yue commonly appears as a plump juvenile silver-white dragon, though she can assume the form of a silver-haired human child. Her weak manifested body varies in size, from roughly twenty centimeters to about half a meter long in dragon form. 10 15

Her pride as the Silver Dragon King repeatedly clashes with her weakened condition. She protests being treated as food, property, a servant, or a soul spirit, but fear of Lin Yan and concern for her survival often force her into reluctant cooperation. 11 12 22

She is calculating and ambitious. After becoming a plane's Heavenly Dao, she secretly plans to recover enough strength to rebel against Lin Yan, while recognizing that she still depends on his authority over time for the world's growth. 19 20

Despite her complaints, Gu Yue develops moments of concern and domestic care: she prepares food for Lin Yan when he is starving, quietly tucks him in, and manages the world entrusted to her. 14 15 22

Her attachment to Lin Yan becomes increasingly visible despite her denials. She is moved by his giving her food despite his own poverty, offers him part of her chicken drumstick, and expresses playful physical affection after his life-essence evolution. 28
