Background

Lin Yan is a transmigrator who awakened the god-tier Martial Souls Space and Time two years before the story. Because neither concept could be visually observed during awakening, he was dismissed as possessing a useless Martial Soul despite his innate full soul power. 1

His family’s finances collapsed after Father Lin died on the Abyssal Battlefield and Mother Lin lost five hundred thousand yuan on a fraudulent “Tang Sect” milk-tea franchise. Lin Yan’s older sister then took the remaining family savings and left. 1 Seeking money for a soul spirit, Lin Yan applied for a loan at the Spirit Transmission Tower, but Su Hai Tao rejected him; Su nevertheless gave him two hundred yuan from his own wallet. 1

Mother Lin later mortgaged their home, leaving Lin Yan with debt collectors and a letter blaming him and his sister for the family’s situation. In the wrecked kitchen, Lin Yan discovered that his mushroom pot contained a microscopic civilization whose creation and destruction generated spiritual-power feedback for him. 2

After Gu Yue entered the miniature world and devastated the Ninth Era, Lin Yan froze the world’s time flow, destroyed the era, and retained Qian Yuhan and Poseidon as potential sources of future feedback. The resulting energy brought him to the level-ten bottleneck, but he remained unable to advance without a soul ring. 3 4

Gu Yue eventually materialized from the Petri Dish into reality. Lin Yan confined her, initially considering her scales, body, or soul-beast value as ways to obtain money or a soul ring; he later accepted her offer to provide god-bestowed soul rings instead. 5 10 11 15

After gathering matter with Gu Yue, Lin Yan created a new world through Chaos Genesis and made her its Heavenly Dao. He accelerated the world’s development, introduced the preserved soul data of Qian Yuhan and Poseidon into its new era, and used the world’s resources to pursue further growth. 18 21
