Background / History
Di Tian witnessed the Soul Beasts’ decline from continental rulers to a population confined within the shrinking Star Dou Forest. He continued waiting for the Silver Dragon King to awaken, believing that her return would reverse their losses 121.
After Gu Yue awakened, her choices increasingly troubled him. He could not understand why she weakened herself, pursued a relationship with Tang Wulin, and studied human technology rather than directly reclaiming the Golden Dragon King’s bloodline 121.
His certainty fractured when memories of another timeline appeared. In those memories, he served a Silver Dragon King who awakened corrupted Soul Beasts, fought humanity, and established a Life Forbidden Zone during the Tenth Era. That ruler’s uncompromising resistance became the standard against which he judged the cautious Gu Yue 38.
Appearance
- Dragon form: A colossal black dragon with black scales, golden eyes, and wings broad enough to block sunlight 105.
- Human form: Appears in clothing and habitually kneels on one knee with his right hand against his chest when addressing his lord 37 120.
- Eastsea battle injuries: Loses much of his scales, suffers a pierced left wing, and is left with exposed flesh and lingering silver-white sword intent in the wound 108.
- Blood: Described as black dragon blood 109.
Personality
Di Tian is normally controlled, deferential, and deeply loyal to the Dragon God’s lineage. His concern is personal as well as ceremonial: when Gu Yue shows fear, he remains nearby watching her rather than immediately departing 8 38.
His loyalty becomes increasingly independent of obedience. Memories of the End Dragon intensify his frustration with retreat and compromise, but he eventually concludes that his deepest allegiance belongs to the Soul Beast race—not exclusively to either Silver Dragon King 120 133.
He distrusts human assurances of peaceful investigation, associating them with captivity, experimentation, dissection, and sampling. He likewise rejects the Federation’s proposed “Special Protection Zone” as another form of confinement 105 121.
Despite his pride, Di Tian can acknowledge the limits of his understanding. Discovering that an apparently primordial monster is merely an insect from another world leaves him yearning to see the greater world beyond the God Realm 54.
Abilities & Skills
Dragon God’s Claw
A remnant of genuine higher-order power left by the Dragon God, wielded through Di Tian’s right claw 106.
- Tears through space and clashes directly with the combined Sentimental and Ruthless Swords’ Emotion Moves Heaven 106.
- Its Eastsea burst exceeds the Ultimate level and Douluo Star’s conventional combat-power assessment 108.
- Every use damages Di Tian’s own body; deploying it against the three Ultimate Douluo demonstrates his willingness to risk his life 106.
Black Dragon Form and Combat Strength
Di Tian transforms into an enormous black dragon capable of aerial combat 105.
- Holds off Long Yeyue, Cao Dezhi, and Zang Xin while refusing to abandon the route toward his lord 106.
- Shatters Cao Dezhi’s sword intent and inflicts devastating injuries on the three opponents, but their fusion attack also leaves him gravely wounded and depleted 108.
- Leng Yaozhu estimates that at least four Ultimate Douluo would be needed to stand a chance against him head-on 139.
- Remains vulnerable to forces above his level: the living sun’s Dragon Might knocks him from the sky alongside the human combatants 109.
Spatial Movement
- Emerges silently from the void and disappears soundlessly into the air 37 39.
- Appears before Gu Yue after a slight distortion of space 120.
Bloodline Perception
- Identifies a pure Golden Dragon King bloodline inside Eastsea Academy 8.
- Recognizes Gu Yuena’s summons instinctively through the Silver Dragon King’s bloodline, even before fully recovering the associated memories 105.
- His golden pupils turn pure gold when the summons triggers a flood of alternate-timeline recollections 105.
Equipment / Items
- Communicator — Uses it to view the image of Poseidon kneeling before the End Dragon, identify the account “End Dragon’s Grand General,” and respond to his lord’s message 123.
Relationships
- Gu Yue — The current timeline’s Silver Dragon King and his longtime lord. He remains bound to her authority, but disputes her cautious strategy and ultimately defies her release order 38 121 123.
- Gu Yuena / End Dragon — The alternate-timeline Silver Dragon King. Her remembered resistance inspires his reverence; he answers her summons and protects her from the approaching human investigators 38 105.
- Dragon God — The source of the lineage to which Di Tian is devoted and of the higher-order power embodied in Dragon God’s Claw 38 106.
- Golden Dragon King — Revered as a dragon ruler whose apparent return gives Di Tian renewed confidence in resisting humanity 109 123.
- Xiong Jun — Fellow Star Dou combatant. They assess the gigantic insect together after Xiong Jun’s attack fails to injure it 54.
- Bi Ji / Brigitte — Fellow Soul Beast leader who gathers with him under Gu Yuena during the Small World’s crises 55 76 137.
- Long Yeyue — Opponent during the Eastsea confrontation. Her flight after the sun’s awakening leaves Di Tian astonished 106 109.
- Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin — Opponents whom he captures after the Eastsea battle and later executes despite Gu Yue’s order to release them 121 123.
- Qian Yuhan — Enemy during the Eternal Night Era. Her subsequent solar radiance is particularly uncomfortable for his dark-attribute body 137.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Divided Between Two Silver Dragon Kings
At Eastsea Academy, Di Tian initially senses the Golden Dragon King’s bloodline but does not share Gu Yue’s first anomalous memory fragments. By their later conversation, he possesses extensive recollections of serving the other Silver Dragon King 8 38.
He proposes cooperation with the weakened counterpart, arguing that her memories and knowledge of the Creator God would be valuable. Gu Yue rejects this possibility, insisting that only one Silver Dragon King can exist and that the counterparts must merge 38.
Service in the Small World
During the Small World’s Soul Beast crisis, Di Tian faces an Angel Knight’s Judgment Spear before Gu Yuena intervenes. Her declaration of total war exhilarates him, although she stops him from immediately organizing attacks on major human cities 50 53.
Eternal Night leaves him thinner, with a chest wound still bleeding. Later, Gu Yuena reassures the gathered beasts that her continued existence allows them to revive in the next era, prompting Di Tian to apologize for overstepping 55 76.
Eastsea Confrontation
Gu Yuena’s bloodline summons unlocks further memories and brings Di Tian to Eastsea City. He blocks Long Yeyue’s party, refusing to let them approach Lin Yan and the little dragon 105.
The confrontation escalates into a battle with three Ultimate Douluo. Both sides suffer crippling injuries before the sun’s awakening overwhelms the battlefield. After Long Yeyue flees, a Federation officer begs Di Tian to spare the remaining humans and offers compensation 106 108 109.
Hostages and Open Defiance
The Federation threatens Star Dou Forest with a Level-12 Godslayer Soul Guidance Cannon. Gu Yue reprimands Di Tian for acting without authorization and orders him to release Cao Dezhi and Zang Xin and apologize 120 121.
Before lifting their restraints, Di Tian sees Poseidon kneeling before the End Dragon. The image renews his conviction that Soul Beasts should no longer live in fear. He beheads both captives with a single downward gesture, without celebration, and silently reports the deed to his lord 123.
The deaths destabilize Tang Sect leadership and the Blood God Legion. Facing further Federation mobilization, Di Tian appeals to Gu Yue and proposes extracting Tang Wulin’s Golden Dragon King bloodline to complete her Yin-Yang Complementarity. Their dispute is overtaken by an escalating Abyssal invasion 132 133.
Daylight Era and Evacuation Concerns
Inside the Small World, Di Tian submerges his dark-attribute dragon body in a pool to escape the relentless heat, only to find the water itself beginning to bubble. He asks Gu Yuena to address the sun’s growing power 137.
Gu Yuena later asks Lin Yan to bring Di Tian and the other Soul Beasts outside the Small World. Lin Yan refuses because of the practical burden of housing and supporting them 151.
