Background / History

Na'er was first noticed alone on an Aolai City street by Lin Yu, who recognized her from her distinctive silver hair and purple eyes. Several young men were watching her movements, prompting Lin Yu to have his guards intervene. 6 7

After the men harassing her were arrested, Lin Yu approached Na'er, wiped dirt from her face, and asked her name. Though initially confused, she responded that she was Na'er after sensing Lin Yu's aura as familiar and intimate despite its dangerous, sickly-sweet scent. 7

She had no knowledge of her family or origins when Lin Yu brought her to the Lin Residence, where she received clean clothes and a bath. 7 Lin Qingye later arranged a Martial Soul awakening for her, but she was unable to awaken a Martial Soul. 8

At Lin Qingye's decision, Na'er enrolled as a day student at Violet Private Noble Academy. She agreed after Lin Yu explained the school and its former-dynasty background, privately viewing enrollment as a way to better understand the rules of the human world. 8 9 She later left the Lin Residence without saying goodbye, leaving Lin Yu a bracelet and a letter stating that she was returning to her family. 12

Na'er is quiet, watchful, and initially guarded around unfamiliar people. She did not immediately explain her circumstances, but accepted Lin Yu after sensing a familiar quality in his presence. 7

She shows a calm willingness to adapt. Though she understood the potential difficulties of attending Violet Private Noble Academy, she agreed to go and later said she wanted to try the school first. 8 10 She also showed concern for Lin Yu when she touched his swollen arms after his first demanding forging lesson. 11

Abilities & Limitations

Martial Soul Awakening

Na'er underwent a Martial Soul awakening at the Lin Residence but did not awaken a Martial Soul. 8

• Her lack of an awakened Martial Soul was a factor in Lin Qingye's decision to place her in Violet Private Noble Academy's ordinary-person classes. 8
