Background / History

Gu Yuena awakens at the Lake of Life when Ye Ming's Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King martial souls trigger a phenomenon of golden and silver dragons. She takes human form from the silver dragon and approaches him immediately. 1

Identifying herself as the Silver Dragon King split from the Dragon God, she declares Ye Ming the Dragon God's chosen hope for soul beasts. His dragon aura helps heal her long-standing injuries and improve her cultivation; she therefore resolves to accompany him into the human world. Her stated objective is to find peaceful coexistence between humans and soul beasts and break the restriction preventing soul beasts from becoming gods. 2

As sovereign, she directs Di Tian to secure dragon-type soul beasts for Ye Ming's rings and persuade Tianmeng Ice Silkworm to become a sacrificial ring for his second martial soul. She also makes clear that refusal would be met with force. 2

Gu Yuena enters Shrek Academy with Ye Ming and Wang Qiuer, choosing the Soul Guidance Department because Ye Ming judges her especially suited to it. Exposure to a ninth-rank fixed-installed soul cannon later convinces her that human soul tool technology can threaten even powerful soul beasts. 14 24 32
