"Wade Grey."

The baby slowly turned his deformed head. His snake-like red eyes fixed on Wade, and his cruel voice carried a strange gentleness. "Your Golem... displayed astonishing combat power during the Tournament. Pledge your loyalty to me, and I will allow you to stand at my left hand in the future..."

Barty Jr. looked at Wade with envy. Though his own position seemed more important, how many years had it taken him to climb to where he was now? And what had this child done?

Wade raised his head, as if Voldemort's appearance had frightened him senseless, and asked with innocent confusion, "W-what?"

Voldemort gave a shrill chuckle and slightly raised an arm. "You do not understand yet... but that is all right. Watch closely. This is the power of your future master!"

"On the path to immortality, I have gone farther than anyone! Pledge your loyalty to me, and I will grant you the same glory!"

With a flick of his finger, Wade's small body was lifted by an invisible force and gently set down on one of the benches prepared for the Church's congregation.

Then the bench's armrests twisted and transformed into several curved iron rings, binding Wade's hands and feet and leaving him unable to move.

In that lightning-fast instant, countless thoughts raced through Wade's mind.

—A Golem? What Golem?

Was that an ability I would have after growing up?

But how could I let myself fall into this situation?

It was not as though I was some Wizarding World native who did not know Barty Jr. had tampered with the Triwizard Tournament trophy...

Come to think of it, why was Barty Jr. here too? Shouldn't he have been disguised as Moody, waiting at Hogwarts for his master's next command, before being caught by Dumbledore?
