Harry rode a Firebolt, shooting upward at an unbelievable speed, higher and higher. Then, with a sudden pop, it was as if he had burst out of an enormous soap bubble.
In an instant, the sky around him changed from brilliant blue to star-studded black. The blazing sun burned at his left hand, while the moon on his right was unimaginably huge, its surface covered in craters.
"Good heavens..."
Harry stared in wonder at the sun and moon, which seemed close enough to touch. He could not help pulling his broomstick even higher, afraid he might accidentally get roasted into a dried husk.
Yet the terrifying heat did him no harm. Harry only felt an incomparable sense of freedom and peace enveloping him.
Suddenly—
"Wake up, Harry, wake up..."
A distant yet familiar voice pierced the silence of space and rang in his ears. At the same time, Harry felt someone gently shaking his body.
Harry jerked awake and opened his eyes to see Lupin's somewhat blurry face.
"...Remus?"
Harry rubbed his eyes and mumbled, "When did you get here? Wait... didn't you fly out of the plane?"
Harry suddenly remembered what had happened before. He became fully awake and asked in shock.
"The plane has landed. We're at the airport now," Lupin said tersely. "Come on. We need to leave."
The abrupt leap in time left Harry completely bewildered. Still dazed, he followed them to his feet and reached for his luggage.
"Harry, your luggage is here!"
Hermione's voice came from ahead. She stamped her foot anxiously, pointed at the backpack by her feet, and said:
"I packed it all for you! Hurry up, everyone else has already left!"
Harry picked up his backpack and, full of confusion, staggered out after Lupin and Hermione.
"Where's Wade?" he asked groggily.
