Yingzhou Island's heavenly secrets were obscured, so Bai Jing's transformation was exceptionally uneventful. There was neither celebration from heaven and earth nor a heavenly tribulation—not even much of a commotion. Only the surrounding spiritual energy gathered somewhat in Bai Jing's direction.
Yet the spiritual energy on Yingzhou Island was so abundant that the amount Bai Jing absorbed during his transformation was truly insignificant.
As the gathering spiritual energy dispersed, a figure emerged from the clouds and mist.
Upon closer inspection, he was a young Daoist. He wore a White Lotus crown, a White Lotus robe, shoes upon his feet, and a silk sash around his waist.
With a thought from Bai Jing, the moisture in the air condensed into a water mirror. Looking at his reflection, a trace of satisfaction flashed through his eyes.
His appearance bore a thirty-percent resemblance to his past life. He was exceptionally handsome and looked to be in his early twenties. This was what it meant for one's appearance to arise from one's heart.
In the Primordial World, attaining the Golden Immortal Dao Fruit granted one an indestructible golden nature and eternal existence. Thus, the appearances of these great powers reflected their own natures, with the Three Pure Ones being prime examples.
Bai Jing, meanwhile, had reached the peak of Taiyi Golden Immortal the moment he took form. There were nine cultivation realms above mortal immortals in the Primordial World. From lowest to highest, they were: Earth Immortal, Heavenly Immortal, True Immortal, Mystic Immortal, Golden Immortal, Taiyi Golden Immortal, Daluo Golden Immortal, Hunyuan Golden Immortal (Quasi-Saint), and Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal (Saint).
Reaching the peak of Taiyi Golden Immortal upon taking form meant Bai Jing possessed the foundations of a top-tier innate divine being. He was only one step behind figures such as the Three Pure Ones and the Twelve Ancestral Witches.
That single step existed because Bai Jing's origin was incomplete. The trace of origin the Chaos Green Lotus had left him was also meant to repair his own origin.
If Bai Jing had fused with that trace of origin when he took form, much of his origin would have been restored, and he would have emerged as a Daluo Golden Immortal.
The reason Bai Jing had not directly fused with the wisp of origin granted to him by the Chaos Green Lotus during his transformation was because his intuition told him that if he fused with it then, his Dao would never be complete. He should first repair his origin on his own, then use that trace of origin from the Chaos Green Lotus to transform his own origin. Only then would he have a chance to attain the Great Dao.
Bai Jing was the sort to heed advice and trust his instincts, so he did not immediately fuse with that wisp of origin.
"Next, it's time to loot Yingzhou Island." With that thought, Bai Jing turned to look at the pool that had nurtured him.
Half the pool water still remained. Scattered across its surface were two nine-rank white lotuses, four six-rank white lotuses, and nine three-rank white lotuses.
Above the pool, golden light enveloped a small ruler. Bai Jing remembered that Pangu had summoned this ruler, and it had flown with him to Yingzhou Island.
In other words, this small ruler was a companion spirit artifact bestowed upon him by Pangu.
Thinking this, Bai Jing beckoned to the small ruler. Without the slightest hesitation, it flew into his hand.
The instant the small ruler landed in his palm, Bai Jing knew what it was.
At its center were two great characters in innate divine script—Measure Heaven.
There was no doubt about it. It was the acquired merit supreme treasure—the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler!
Of the merit gained from Pangu's creation of heaven and earth, the Three Pure Ones received thirty percent, the Twelve Ancestral Witches received thirty percent, the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler and the Heaven and Earth Mysterious Yellow Exquisite Pagoda each received ten percent, while the rest scattered throughout the Primordial World.
The Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler was an acquired merit supreme treasure, as famous as Laozi's Heaven and Earth Mysterious Yellow Exquisite Pagoda. One for offense and one for defense, it was an ultimate offensive treasure.
In terms of destructive power alone, it was not much inferior to the Pangu Banner! Moreover, as a merit treasure, it could kill without accruing karma.
Bai Jing immediately began attempting to refine the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler, but the process went far more smoothly than expected. In the blink of an eye, Bai Jing had refined twenty-four of its restrictions and essentially gained control of the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler.
"This is way too easy! I thought it would take hundreds or even thousands of years just to initially refine the restrictions! Let alone refining twenty-four restrictions at once. Is it because Pangu gave the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler to me?"
Sensing Bai Jing's thoughts, the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler trembled, as though responding to him.
Excitement flashed in Bai Jing's eyes. So it really was because of Pangu?
After playing with the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler for a while, Bai Jing put it away and looked toward the half-pool of water.
The inherited memories in Bai Jing's mind told him that this pool water was the Primordial World's premier healing sacred medicine—the Three Lights Divine Water.
The so-called Three Lights Divine Water consisted of Sunlight Divine Water, Moonlight Divine Water, and Starlight Divine Water. Each was highly poisonous, corroding the primordial spirit and soul, eroding bone and blood, and devouring true spirit, consciousness, and thought. Even Daluo immortals would not dare touch them lightly.
However, once these three divine waters combined, extremes reversed, and they became the finest healing sacred medicine.
Bai Jing was in no hurry to collect the Three Lights Divine Water. Instead, he lowered his head and looked at the other white lotuses in the pool.
While taking form earlier, he had sensed other soul fluctuations in the pool water. Though they had hidden themselves quickly, Bai Jing had still caught them.
A sweep of Bai Jing's divine sense confirmed it. Within one of the nine-rank white lotuses, he sensed a weak soul.
"It actually developed consciousness?"
Upon seeing that Bai Jing had discovered it, the nine-rank white lotus trembled in terror. It also knew that, as another descendant of the Chaos Green Lotus, its existence would divide a portion of the Chaos Green Lotus lineage's fortune. Bai Jing naturally knew this as well.
Even ants struggled to survive, let alone an innate divine being!
Though the consciousness nurtured within the nine-rank white lotus could not compare to his own, it was still an innate divine being with above-average aptitude.
But how could one allow another to sleep beside one's bed? Bai Jing did not want his fortune divided, nor did he want any brothers or sisters. With a thought, the Primordial Measure of Heaven Ruler appeared in his hand and directly erased the consciousness of that nine-rank white lotus.
Afterward, Bai Jing began wandering around Yingzhou Immortal Island.
Each of the Three Immortal Islands came with an innate grand formation capable of converting chaotic qi into innate spiritual energy. Its richness far surpassed that of immortal mountains outside. On the nearby peaks, spiritual energy had condensed into mist and even produced innate spiritual liquid. Every few steps, one could encounter spirit herbs that had grown for countless years, and spirit roots were plentiful as well. Many were even top-grade acquired spirit roots.
Bai Jing refused none of them. Whenever he encountered one, he collected it.
Whenever he came across an innate spiritual object, he stopped to break its restrictions and claim it.
After spending ten thousand years in this manner, Bai Jing finally arrived at the highest peak of Yingzhou Immortal Island.
Before even entering the mountain, Bai Jing sensed the existence of restrictions. He immediately began breaking them. Calling it breaking them was generous—he was really just slowly wearing them away with his mana, since Bai Jing knew nothing about formations.
In the blink of an eye, another thousand years passed. Bai Jing finally wore away the mountain's restrictions and entered it.
Bai Jing wandered around the mountain but found no powerful innate spiritual treasures. Only when he reached the summit did he spot a jade fragment.
"Could this be a fragment of the Jade Disc of Creation?" A guess flashed through Bai Jing's mind, and he picked up the jade fragment.
It really was one of the Jade Disc of Creation's fragments. However, it was not a main fragment, merely an ordinary one. It recorded the Dao of Devouring, the Dao of Artifacts, and the Dao of Enchantment. Of these, the Dao of Devouring ranked relatively high and should have been around the top thirty Great Daos.
Bai Jing was somewhat disappointed. How wonderful would it have been if it were a main fragment containing one of the top ten Great Daos! But then he thought of it another way. Hongjun had spent so many years in the Primordial World and had already collected nearly all of the Jade Disc of Creation. How could any main fragments still be scattered about?
This tiny jade fragment had escaped notice only because it was on Yingzhou Island, where even the Heavenly Dao could hardly track it. Otherwise, how could it have fallen into his hands?
