For three whole days.
Hyuga Wuye and Tsunade spent their time by the stream.
Catching fish, smacking fish, healing fish, releasing fish... Oh, if they accidentally smacked one to death, they grilled it for a meal.
"Wuye, after three days of this, I've reached a sad conclusion..."
Tsunade rubbed her temples and said in an utterly helpless tone, "I don't know how you awakened the Sharingan at such a young age, and I don't know how you learned Adamantine Sealing Chains, but you truly have no talent for ninjutsu at all..."
"Mind you, I'm not talking about medical ninjutsu, much less the A-rank Mystical Palm Technique. I mean all ninjutsu. Your ability to comprehend it is unprecedentedly... terrible!"
Her brows drew tightly together. "With talent like yours, you probably couldn't even learn the Three Basic Techniques. So how did you learn Adamantine Sealing Chains?"
Clearly, Tsunade had initially taught Wuye as though he were a genius, which was why she had demonstrated the Mystical Palm Technique right away.
But after three days, she had finally realized that Wuye had no talent for ninjutsu whatsoever!
Explaining ninjutsu principles to him was even harder than playing music to a cow!
"Uh..."
Wuye spread his hands, wearing an utterly helpless expression.
He was despairing too!
He considered himself rather talented at flirting with girls, but what could he do when the woman in front of him saw him as a junior and a disciple?
Especially when he still had the harmless face of a child. No matter what he did, she would only think he was fooling around—the kind of play adults indulged children in.
For Tsunade to be attracted to Wuye at this age, how perverted would that make her?
And so, he was trapped in a deadlock.
"Well... actually... I think... I can still be saved..." Wuye covered his face awkwardly.
Tsunade sighed and reached out to ruffle his hair. "Maybe you're the kind of unconventional talent with exceptional insight into certain specific ninjutsu. Unfortunately, you have no aptitude for anything I'm good at."
"Who are you saying has no talent?"
At that moment, Kaguya's cold voice came from behind them.
Wuye turned around and saw her standing coolly beneath the brilliant sunlight, like a glowing little snowman.
"What are you here for?" Tsunade frowned.
Kaguya frowned as well. "Can't I come see how your teaching is going?"
Tsunade held up three fingers in displeasure. "It's only been three days! What do you expect me to teach him in three days?! Are you so bored you have nothing to do? Then leave the village and take a mission. The situation is extremely tense right now!"
Kaguya paused.
She did not know why she had been unable to resist coming over. Mainly because... teaching the Hyuga Hiashi and Hyuga Hizashi brothers felt different from teaching Wuye. It always felt as though something was missing.
If Wuye knew what puzzled her, he would definitely tell her: Of course, what was missing was that hazy ambiguity and heartflutter!
With the Byakugan's x-ray vision as a foundation, along with having shared a cup of tea, there was no way Kaguya could truly teach him as if he were a younger brother.
Her state of mind was completely different from Tsunade's.
"If I hadn't come, how would I have heard you say Wuye had no talent?"
Naturally, Kaguya would not reveal what she was thinking. She still looked as icy as ever. "If he had no talent, could he awaken the Sharingan, awaken the Byakugan, and learn the Uzumaki clan's secret arts? What utter nonsense!"
"He awakened the Byakugan too?!"
Tsunade was startled.
Even the historical records of her Senju Clan had never documented someone who possessed both the Byakugan and Sharingan, while also knowing Uzumaki Sealing Arts.
There had been intermarriage in the Warring States era, but a mixed bloodline like this was unprecedented, absolutely unprecedented...
"Wuye, hasn't she been teaching you properly?" Kaguya flicked her snow-white hair and asked.
Hyuga Wuye hurriedly shook his head. "No, no. Teacher has been very thorough. I'm the one who can't understand it."
"Really?" Kaguya was doubtful.
Wuye nodded repeatedly.
Tsunade folded her arms. "Hear that? I haven't held anything back at all!"
Kaguya's delicate brows furrowed. "I don't believe you."
"Then teach him yourself!" Tsunade snapped.
"Fine, I will!"
Kaguya grabbed Wuye and tugged him along. "Come on. We'll pick up where we left off. I'll continue teaching you the Gentle Fist."
"Okay, okay..."
Wuye could only follow her.
Tsunade crossed her arms and leaned against a tree trunk, ready to enjoy the show. "I refuse to believe your ice-cold face can teach any better than I can."
"Activate your Byakugan first," Kaguya said.
Wuye nodded. A layer of pale white light covered his eyes.
"Hm?"
Tsunade became interested.
"You should remember the 128 acupoints I told you to memorize last time, right?" Kaguya asked.
Wuye looked miserable. "I remember them. Very clearly. It couldn't be any clearer."
How could he possibly be unclear about the acupoints he had worked so hard to force open himself...
"Good. Now I'll teach you how to use the Gentle Fist to strike chakra into an enemy's body and seal their acupoints."
Kaguya brought the fingers of her right hand together like a blade. A layer of chakra light suddenly extended from it, then vanished.
"Did you understand?" she asked, withdrawing her hand.
Wuye shook his head blankly.
"Hahaha!" Tsunade suddenly planted her hands on her hips and laughed. "That's how you teach? You didn't even explain where the chakra is released from, how much is released, how it enters the enemy's body, or how it seals the acupoints."
Kaguya's face turned cold.
Wuye, meanwhile, stretched out his hand in confusion. "Sister, Teacher is right. Can you point it out? Which chakra pathways does it release from?"
In truth, he had already analyzed it completely...
So was he doing this now to preserve Tsunade's dignity?
Of course not. He was doing it for... ambiguity and heartflutter.
Kaguya hesitated for a moment, then slowly reached out and took Wuye's hand.
Their soft, sensitive skin touched, and a strange sense of closeness arose naturally.
He's a younger brother, he's a younger brother, he's a younger brother...
She repeated it in her heart, yet the scene from their x-ray vision last time, along with that cup of water, surfaced in her mind against her will...
Kaguya's breathing grew slightly uneven, and her heart was no longer calm.
She found that strange feeling again, a feeling entirely unlike what she felt when teaching Hyuga Hiashi and Hyuga Hizashi.
Fortunately, Kaguya had always been cold and expressionless, so Tsunade could not see any change in her at all.
Only Wuye could sense the slender hand holding his trembling slightly.
The icy beauty was melting. Keep at it—work harder!
"Chakra is not actually released through the pathways in your fingertips. It flows out through the palm, wrapping around the entire hand..."
Kaguya's slender fingers pointed and traced across Wuye's hand, sliding slowly over it, cool and pleasant.
Tsunade's gaze suddenly froze.
At that moment, drifting willow catkins floated over, mingling with the shafts of sunlight filtering through gaps in the trees and settling upon Kaguya and Wuye, two figures as white as snow.
The entire world seemed to fall quiet. Only Kaguya's lovely voice flowed softly on, pleasant and beautiful.
"Finally, let the chakra burst forth at high speed through the four fingertips, driving all the chakra in the palm to strike the opponent's body together. This creates a chakra thrust that can enter their body."
After saying that, Kaguya hurriedly released Wuye's hand.
Tsunade stared blankly. From the moment Kaguya had taken Wuye's hand, she had felt shut out, as though she were excluded from their world. Only now did she feel as if she had reentered the space between them.
She gave a light cough... to make her presence known.
"That was a passable explanation, but based on my experience over the past three days, he probably still won't be able to understand it..."
