Danzo Shimura's downfall was like a massive boulder cast into the deep waters of the Hidden Leaf, its ripples swiftly spreading to every corner.
Yet within the Uchiha Compound, the atmosphere was even graver than usual.
Fugaku sat upright in the seat of honor, the clan elders lined up on either side, while representatives of the younger generation, such as Itachi Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha, stood below with their hands at their sides.
"Danzo is dead, and Root has been disbanded." Fugaku's voice was low, yet it reached every ear clearly.
Dead silence.
After a long while, a white-haired elder spoke in a trembling voice. "Clan Head, is... is this true? Then our Uchiha..."
He did not finish, but everyone understood what he meant. Had the mountain crushing them from above truly vanished?
"The information is accurate." Fugaku gave them no time for excessive speculation. "But do not celebrate too soon. Danzo's fall will not immediately erase the Hidden Leaf's suspicions toward us."
Another elder looked indignant. "Hmph, that old bastard Danzo was the true culprit! If he had not targeted us at every turn, how would our Uchiha have ended up like this?!"
"Is there any point in saying that now?" Fugaku's gaze swept over him. "The past cannot be changed, but the future lies in our own hands."
His eyes settled on several clansmen who had always been radical, advocating forceful confrontation.
"From today onward, anyone in the clan who continues to preach hostility toward the village or attempts to provoke trouble will be severely punished without exception!" Fugaku's tone suddenly sharpened. "What the Uchiha need is rebirth, not destruction!"
Those men's expressions shifted. One of them could not help retorting, "Clan Head! Are we supposed to bow and scrape, begging for their trust? The Uchiha's glory..."
"Glory?" Fugaku rose to his feet, his presence overwhelming. "Glory is earned through strength and contribution, not by empty slogans and self-destruction! Haven't we lost enough over these years?"
Itachi and Shisui stepped forward, an invisible pressure spreading from them and bearing down on the radicals.
"Father is right," Itachi said calmly. "What the Uchiha need is to integrate into the Hidden Leaf, not be excluded by it."
Shisui agreed. "Only then can we truly clear away the stigma and regain respect."
As Fugaku watched hope rekindle in most of the clan members' eyes, along with the unwilling yet helpless expressions of the few, his heart settled.
He knew this was only the first step.
The next day, at the Hokage Office.
Minato Namikaze looked at the thick report before him. On its cover, the words "Uchiha Clan Loyalty and Reform Proposal" stood out prominently.
Fugaku stood before the desk with Itachi Uchiha, keeping his posture extremely humble.
"Lord Fourth," Fugaku said with a slight bow, "this is the plan our clan devised after reflecting on our actions. The Uchiha Clan is willing to offer everything for the Hidden Leaf's prosperity and stability."
The report detailed the Uchiha's internal reform measures, including voluntarily disclosing certain clan affairs, pledging strict adherence to the Hidden Leaf's laws, and actively participating in the village's various missions.
Minato turned the pages one by one, his expression calm.
Hiruzen Sarutobi sat to one side with a teacup in hand. Steam curled upward, concealing his complicated emotions.
This report was far more thorough than he had expected. The Uchiha had truly made up their minds this time.
"Clan Head Fugaku, you have put much thought into this." Minato closed the report. "The Hidden Leaf has seen this sincerity."
He looked toward Kamizuki Yu beside him.
Kamizuki Yu had been idly fiddling with a teacup. Only when he sensed Minato's gaze did he lazily lift his eyelids.
"What does the Chief Advisor think?" Minato asked.
"It is never too late to mend the fold after the sheep are lost." Kamizuki Yu set down the teacup. "However, a report alone will likely not dispel everyone's doubts completely."
Fugaku's heart tightened.
Kamizuki Yu continued, "The Uchiha's Sharingan is a powerful force. If that force cannot be used by the village, it becomes a potential threat. That is only human nature."
Then his tone shifted. "But refusing to eat for fear of choking would be even more foolish. The Hidden Leaf Police Force was originally established for the Uchiha by the First Hokage. Now that everything needs rebuilding, they are exactly what it needs to restore its strength."
"More than that," Kamizuki Yu said, looking at Minato, "ANBU, the medical corps, and every other department in the village should open their doors to outstanding Uchiha talent. They carry the blood of one of the Hidden Leaf's founding clans and should be given equal opportunities."
Hiruzen Sarutobi's fingers paused slightly. Kamizuki Yu's proposal was even bolder than he had anticipated.
Minato pondered for a moment, then broke into a smile. "What Kamizuki says is exactly what I had in mind."
He turned to Fugaku. "Clan Head Fugaku, the Hidden Leaf trusts in the Uchiha's resolve. The Police Force's authority will be restored immediately. As for the other departments, anyone capable enough will be treated equally."
Fugaku's body trembled, and an incredulous light flashed through his eyes. He abruptly raised his head, looking at Minato, then at Kamizuki Yu.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage! Thank you, Lord Chief Advisor!" Fugaku bowed deeply, his voice carrying a faint tremble.
Itachi bowed as well, his gratitude toward Kamizuki Yu beyond measure.
"This is something your Uchiha earned for yourselves," Minato said gently. "I hope that in the future, I will see a new Uchiha Clan bringing even greater glory to the Hidden Leaf."
The news swiftly spread throughout the Hidden Leaf.
The entire Uchiha Clan erupted in unprecedented jubilation.
The grievances, unwillingness, and anger they had suppressed for so long seemed to find an outlet at last.
Clan members gathered voluntarily outside Kamizuki Yu's residence and refused to leave for a long time, simply to express their most sincere respect.
Fugaku even came personally to make a solemn promise to Kamizuki Yu. "The Uchiha Clan will never forget the Chief Advisor's grace in remaking our clan! Should you ever have need of us, the Uchiha will spare no effort!"
Kamizuki Yu merely smiled faintly. "It was a small matter. I only did what I believed was right."
To him, a united and powerful Uchiha Clan was far more valuable than one consumed by internal strife and division.
A few days later, at the Uchiha Compound training ground.
During a break in training, several young Uchiha shinobi gathered their courage and approached Kamizuki Yu, who was "observing" from the side.
The boy at the front was around thirteen or fourteen. His two-tomoe Sharingan turned faintly, his expression carrying both nervousness and admiration.
"Lord Chief Advisor..." the boy stammered. "We... we would like to ask for your guidance on the use of ocular techniques."
The others nodded as well, their gazes burning with anticipation.
The methods Kamizuki Yu had used that day to strip Danzo's arm away, as well as the way he had dealt with those Sharingan, had long since spread among those in the know. His absolute control over ocular power and Wood Release had left every Uchiha in awe.
"Oh?" Kamizuki Yu raised a brow. "Shouldn't your clan head and elders understand the Sharingan better than I do?"
That was not untrue. When it came to systematic instruction, the Uchiha naturally had their own inherited teachings.
The boy hurriedly explained, "The clan head and elders mostly teach us the basics and traditional combat methods. But we feel that your eyes... seem able to see something deeper. Perhaps there are realms of the Sharingan's power that we have yet to touch."
That was indeed true. The insight granted by the Eternal Mangekyō combined with the Sage Body was far beyond that of an ordinary Sharingan.
Kamizuki Yu looked them over. They were all fairly gifted prospects.
"The Sharingan's power originates from the heart. It reflects reality, but it can also create illusion," he said casually, offering a bit of guidance. "If you rely too heavily on ocular power itself, you will instead lose your way. Seeing through falsehood and discerning the essence is what truly matters."
He extended a finger, chakra stirring faintly at its tip.

The young Uchiha felt the scene before them blur, then immediately return to normal, as though nothing had happened.
Yet cold sweat seeped from their foreheads.
For that brief instant, they had felt as though their consciousness had been dragged into a bottomless abyss, just a step away from being swallowed completely.
And they had not even seen how Kamizuki Yu had activated it.
"This..." The boys looked at one another, their eyes filled with shock and excitement.
"A little trick." Kamizuki Yu withdrew his finger. "Think more, train more, and do not overthink things."
He was happy to offer guidance. It would both strengthen the Uchiha as a whole and subtly increase his own influence.
After undergoing this drastic upheaval, the Uchiha Clan was integrating into the larger Hidden Leaf family with an entirely new bearing.
The clan members' spirits had been completely renewed, and confidence and pride once again filled their faces.
The shadow of the clan's destruction had been thoroughly dispelled.
Kamizuki Yu stood atop Hokage Rock, looking down at the flourishing village below and the Uchiha Compound, now brimming with life once more.
The darkness within the Hidden Leaf had been swept away, and sunlight had fallen upon it again.
But that was not enough.
A powerful Uchiha Clan was only one part of his plan.
Next, he would gather this force together with the other geniuses in the village.
He would forge a trump card force that truly belonged to him, one that stood above all else.
He reached out a hand, as though he intended to grasp the entire Hidden Leaf in his palm.
"More or less. It's time to begin the next step."
