A Large-Scale "Teaching According to Aptitude" Session in Hidden Leaf: One Word from Kamizuki Yu Was Worth Ten Years of Study
Time quietly passed, and under the unseen hand's influence, Hidden Leaf was changing in subtle ways.
The Ninja Academy training grounds were especially lively today.
This was not an ordinary sparring class, but a public guidance session specially approved by the Hokage, with several elite jonin taking turns instructing the students.
Under the sunlight, a blond boy was bouncing around, his laughter bright and his face brimming with confidence. It was Naruto Uzumaki.
His parents, the Fourth Hokage and his wife, had remained safe and sound thanks to Kamizuki Yu's intervention years ago.
The warmth of his family and the careful guidance of talented teachers had spared Naruto the gloom of orphanhood. His chakra was abundant, and his personality shone just as brightly.
"Minato-sensei and Kushina-senpai have taught Naruto very well."
At the edge of the crowd, the silver-haired, masked jonin Kakashi Hatake watched the lively Naruto in the field, feeling deeply moved.
Kamizuki Yu stood beside him.
Several months had passed, yet Kamizuki Yu still looked gentle and languid, as if nothing around him could stir much interest.
"After all, he's a hero's son. His talent is extraordinary." Kamizuki Yu's reply was calm, but his gaze drifted across the younger generation.
Sasuke Uchiha stood on the other side, his expression composed, carrying the reserved bearing unique to the Uchiha Clan.
His clan had not suffered annihilation. Under Kamizuki Yu's deliberate yet subtle pressure and balancing, the relationship between the Uchiha Clan and the village remained delicate, but it was nowhere near the point of open hostility.
With a complete family and the expectations of his clansmen, Sasuke's mindset was far more positive than in the original story. He had less gloom and more youthful sharpness.
Sakura Haruno, meanwhile, was carefully recording the key points from the jonin's lecture, her short pink hair making her look crisp and capable.
The village's increasingly positive atmosphere, along with the spread of basic cultivation principles that Kamizuki Yu had "casually" leaked, had given her a much firmer foundation than others her age.
At that moment, Asuma Sarutobi was the one in charge of instruction.
"All right, that's enough basic theory for today. Next, you may ask questions freely." Asuma exhaled a ring of smoke.
Naruto was the first to raise his hand, his voice loud and clear. "Asuma-sensei! I want to know how I can learn stronger ninjutsu faster!"
Asuma smiled, about to answer.
"Powerful ninjutsu is built upon ultimate control over chakra."
A cool, calm voice suddenly cut in. It was not loud, yet everyone heard it clearly.
It was Kamizuki Yu.
At some point, he had stepped closer, his gaze settling on Naruto.
Naruto froze for a moment and looked at this "Brother Yu," who always seemed so relaxed. Minato and Kushina were close friends with Kamizuki Yu, so Naruto had grown quite close to him as well.
"Brother Yu?"
Kamizuki Yu nodded slightly. "The amount of chakra in your body is immense, but the way you use it is crude. Blindly pursuing power is like using a giant axe to chop firewood—the waste far outweighs the results."
Naruto scratched the back of his head, somewhat unconvinced. "But you need power to defeat enemies!"
"Water can carry a boat, but it can also capsize one. If immense power cannot be controlled precisely, it is more likely to hurt yourself before it hurts others. Or... you may never reach the height you desire." Kamizuki Yu's tone did not change.
He recalled the system reward, [Perfect Nine-Tails Chakra Mode (No Jinchuriki Required)]. That represented an even higher level of application.
For Naruto, even without such an opportunity, perfectly mastering his own power and a portion of the Nine-Tails' power would be enough to benefit him endlessly.
Naruto furrowed his brows, seemingly pondering the meaning of those words. The Nine-Tails within him had little hostility due to the seal's perfection and Kushina's careful guidance. Instead, it had formed a subtle symbiotic relationship with him.
Kamizuki Yu's advice gave him the faint feeling that he had overlooked something.
Upon hearing this, Sasuke's dark eyes shifted slightly as he looked toward Kamizuki Yu.
Kamizuki Yu turned to him as well. "The Sharingan's core lies in its perception. But after perceiving something, the key is how you turn that information into action."
Sasuke stood ramrod straight. "I've been training in taijutsu and ninjutsu to work together with the Sharingan."
"What you can see is far more than what you can do." Kamizuki Yu struck straight at the heart of the matter.
"In battle, a judgment delayed by one-tenth of a second or an action off by one-hundredth of a second can decide life and death. The Sharingan can help you capture that fleeting opportunity, but can your body—can your instinctive reactions—keep up?"
Sasuke frowned. He had always been proud of his talent and diligence, but Kamizuki Yu's words caused a sliver of doubt to arise within him.
He had indeed experienced that feeling before: he could see an opponent's opening clearly, but his body would still be half a beat too slow.
"Integrate the Sharingan's perception into every breath and every contraction of your muscles. Let your body's memory match the speed of your eyes, rather than making your eyes wait for your body." Kamizuki Yu continued his guidance.
These principles were not unheard of, but when spoken by Kamizuki Yu, they carried an irrefutable persuasiveness.
It was as though whatever he said was the ultimate truth of ninjutsu.
Sasuke fell silent, carefully savoring his words.
Kamizuki Yu then looked at Sakura. "Haruno."
Sakura immediately straightened nervously. "Yes! Senior Kamizuki Yu!"
"You have a good talent for chakra control. It's very refined." Kamizuki Yu gave her affirmation.
Sakura's cheeks reddened. She felt a little embarrassed, but even more excited.
"Medical ninja need precision, and genjutsu ninja need it as well. Your path should not be limited to medical knowledge from books or imitating a few basic genjutsu."
"Try to sense the most minute flows of chakra. Use it to repair the tiniest injuries, or to weave the most intricate illusions. When your control reaches the ultimate level, even a single strand of hair can become a tool to save someone—or a mist that confuses an enemy."
Sakura nodded vigorously, her eyes shining.
She had always believed herself to be ordinary, able to rely only on hard work to catch up. Kamizuki Yu's words had undoubtedly opened a new door for her.
Kakashi listened quietly from the side, no one knowing the expression beneath his mask.
Yet a great storm had risen in his heart.
Kamizuki Yu's seemingly casual advice had struck directly at the core, far beyond the scope of an ordinary jonin's teaching.
His analysis of Naruto's chakra nature, his profound understanding of combining Sasuke's Sharingan with taijutsu, his precise foresight into Sakura's future path...
This insight, this knowledge, was simply terrifying.
Who exactly is he? Kakashi had asked himself that question more than once.
Kamizuki Yu's strength was beyond doubt, but the depth and breadth of his understanding of ninjutsu, along with the precise guidance he casually revealed toward the younger generation, made him seem even more unfathomable.
Asuma had stopped smoking as well, watching Kamizuki Yu thoughtfully.
The other genin and chunin observing nearby had also fallen into contemplation.
They might not have fully understood the deeper meaning of Kamizuki Yu's words, but that feeling of getting straight to the source had still benefited them greatly.
Naruto scratched his head, then suddenly asked loudly, "Brother Yu, then how can I control my chakra better?"
"Start with the most basic tree climbing and water walking. But don't merely complete them—feel every output and adhesion of chakra, and search for that most delicate point of balance," Kamizuki Yu replied.
"Sasuke, you can try using the Sharingan during extreme high-speed movement, then review it afterward. Find the delay between your body's reactions and your eyes' perception, then make up for it accordingly."
"Sakura, you can begin by controlling the shape of flowing water, or using chakra threads to manipulate leaves. Pursue ultimate stability and precision."
The three of them nodded repeatedly as they listened.
Kamizuki Yu's heart was calm.
What he had done was not some sudden bout of saintly compassion, nor was he deliberately trying to cultivate some "protagonist group."
He had merely changed many events already, and so, for these children who should have struggled and grown through suffering, he had casually provided a more optimized path for growth.
Hidden Leaf's future needed more solid pillars.
And he was also happy to see what different flowers these fates, altered by his influence, would bloom into.
This game had become more and more interesting because of his involvement.
He was cultivating these people to stockpile strength for the future battle against the Otsutsuki Clan. Though he was confident he could crush everything himself, having more reliable helpers was never a bad thing.
If he could win while lying down, why stand? If his subordinates could do the work, why do it himself?
That was the valuable experience he had gained from his past life as an overworked employee.
"Thank you for your guidance, Brother Yu!" Naruto grinned, once again filled with motivation.
Sasuke also bowed slightly. "Thank you, Senior."
Sakura bowed deeply. "Thank you very much for your instruction, Senior Kamizuki Yu!"
Kamizuki Yu waved a hand, signaling that there was no need for such formality.
He turned around, preparing to leave the noisy grounds.
Kakashi watched his retreating back and suddenly spoke. "Kamizuki, how about having a drink together sometime?"
Kamizuki Yu did not stop walking. His leisurely voice drifted back. "We'll see. I've recently gained some insights into improving forbidden jutsu, so I'm rather busy."
Kakashi: "..."
Forbidden jutsu again.
This man always seemed to be touching Hidden Leaf's most central, most dangerous domains.
And improving forbidden jutsu?
What exactly does he want to do? Or rather, how far has he already gone?
Kakashi felt that his curiosity was about to become impossible to suppress.
Kamizuki Yu walked slowly through Hidden Leaf's streets, taking in the village's peaceful atmosphere.
He knew what kind of waves his few words today would stir among the younger generation.
But this was only the beginning.
He still had many pieces in his hand.
To play a grand game, one needed enough patience.
