Background
Tang San is a reincarnator connected to the Tang Sect. Before arriving in Douluo Continent, he had been an outstanding Outer Hall disciple and retained the Tang Sect's Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, including its internal cultivation, movement, eye-training, grappling, and hidden-weapon arts. 614 624
As a child in Holy Soul Village, Tang San worked in Tang Hao's blacksmith shop and secretly practiced the Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique. Kamizuki Yu immediately recognized the technique and dismantled Tang San's confidence by refining an iron billet into flawless metal with a single strike. Tang San's defiance turned into reverence after witnessing the difference in their forging skill. 613 614
His father, Tang Hao, had concealed both his identity as a Clear Sky Sect Titled Douluo and Tang San's extraordinary heritage. Kamizuki Yu exposed these secrets, then publicly triggered Tang San's twin martial souls at the awakening ceremony. 615 617 618
Personality
Tang San is vigilant and calculating, with instincts that make him wary of threats even when they appear harmless. He initially treats Kamizuki Yu as dangerous despite the latter concealing all visible soul-power fluctuations. 613
He is intensely driven by strength and willing to endure extreme pain to gain it. During Shrek Academy's explosive-tag training, he repeatedly rose from severe injuries and demanded another attempt rather than withdrawing. 631 632
His pursuit of power can override loyalty and gratitude. After seeing Kamizuki Yu defeat two Titled Douluo, Tang San abandoned Yu Xiaogang in favor of seeking Kamizuki Yu as a master, even offering the Tang Sect's supreme arts as payment. Kamizuki Yu rejected him for betraying a teacher who had been sincere toward him. 623 624
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses two martial souls, an exceptionally rare combination revealed during his awakening.
- Blue Silver Grass — Identified by Kamizuki Yu as a control-type martial soul rather than a useless one. Tang San uses it for binding, movement, and rescue attempts. 619 631
- Clear Sky Hammer — A dominant tool-type martial soul associated with the Clear Sky Sect. 617 618
- Limitation: Kamizuki Yu sealed Tang San's connection to the Clear Sky Hammer with the Five Elements Seal. 620
Mysterious Heaven Skill
A Tang Sect internal cultivation method that Tang San practiced before and after his martial-soul awakening. 618 624
- Circulates automatically to nourish his depleted meridians. 630
- Can be directed through the Yongquan acupoints to maintain footing on water. 631 632
- Kamizuki Yu can recognize and forbid its use during training. 630
Purple Demon Eye
An eye-training technique from the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. 624
- Enhances Tang San's observation of fast attacks and environmental details. 633
- Allowed him to identify water currents and adjust his soul-power output while balancing on the river. 632
- Could not fully follow Kamizuki Yu's movements or the speed of a Titled Douluo's attack. 633 635
Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track
A Tang Sect movement technique. 624
- Tang San relied on it while attempting Kamizuki Yu's water-walking and explosive-tag exercises. 631
- Its movement advantages were insufficient when Kamizuki Yu directly countered his actions. 631 632
Tang Sect Hidden Weapons
Tang San carries and studies concealed weapons as part of the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. 622 624
- Keeps a sleeve arrow concealed at his wrist. 622
- Possesses the Hundred Solutions to Hidden Weapons manual. 624
- Kamizuki Yu dismisses hidden weapons as ineffective against truly powerful opponents such as Titled Douluo. 624
Divine Power
By his later appearance, Tang San bears both the Sea God and Shura God titles and wields the Sea God Trident. 647
- His divine power was completely halted when Kamizuki Yu restrained him. 647
- The Sea God Trident was forcibly confiscated and repurposed as a clothesline pole. 647
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record — A copied Tang Sect manual containing the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eye, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, Control Crane Capture Dragon, and hidden-weapon arts. 624
- Twenty-Four Bridges Bright Moon Night — A storage belt carried at Tang San's waist. 622
- Sleeve arrow — A concealed weapon hidden at his wrist. 622
- Sea God Trident — His divine artifact as the Sea God; seized by the Evil God on Kamizuki Yu's orders. 647
Relationships
- Tang Hao — Father and a concealed Clear Sky Sect Titled Douluo. Tang Hao's fear of Kamizuki Yu leaves Tang San shaken and increasingly aware of the gulf between their strength. 613 615 620
- Kamizuki Yu — A feared superior who exposes Tang San's Tang Sect identity, awakens his second martial soul, seals his Clear Sky Hammer, and rejects his request for discipleship. Tang San later trains under his harsh supervision at Shrek Academy and is eventually subdued again as a god. 617 620 624 630 647
- Yu Xiaogang — Tang San's initial master at Nuoding Academy. Tang San abandons and denounces him while attempting to gain Kamizuki Yu's acceptance as a disciple. 620 623 624
- Xiao Wu — Fellow Seventh Dormitory student and Shrek trainee. She is disturbed by Tang San's willingness to betray Yu Xiaogang for power. 621 624
- Dai Mubai, Ning Rongrong, Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and Zhu Zhuqing — Fellow Shrek trainees subjected alongside Tang San to Kamizuki Yu's endurance, illusion, explosive-tag, and water-combat training. 629 631 632
- Tang Wutong — Addressed by Kamizuki Yu as Tang San's daughter; she refuses to acknowledge the connection after witnessing Tang San's humiliation. 647

Holy Soul Village
Tang San meets Kamizuki Yu while forging in his father's shop. Kamizuki Yu critiques the Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique, demonstrates overwhelming forging mastery, exposes Tang Hao's identity, and takes an interest in Tang San's martial-soul awakening. 613 614 615
At the ceremony, Tang San awakens Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. His testing crystal shatters, marking soul power beyond ordinary full innate level, while Kamizuki Yu identifies Blue Silver Grass as a control-type martial soul. 617 618 619
Nuoding Academy
After Kamizuki Yu defeats Tang Hao and seals Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer, Tang San enrolls at Nuoding Academy and becomes the boss of Seventh Dormitory after defeating Wang Sheng. 620 621
Witnessing Kamizuki Yu defeat Yue Guan and Gui Mei causes Tang San to reconsider Yu Xiaogang as his master. He kneels before Kamizuki Yu and offers the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record in exchange for discipleship, but is rejected as an “ungrateful wretch.” 623 624
Shrek Academy Training
Tang San becomes one of the students subjected to Kamizuki Yu's severe training regime: a 200-kilometer weighted run, nightmare illusions through Infinite Tsukuyomi, medicinal recovery, water-walking, explosive tags, and water-based sparring. 629 631 632
He displays exceptional technical growth in soul-power control, eventually stabilizing himself on the river despite a tracking explosive tag and severe injuries. 632
Return as a God
