What a rush! What an incredible rush!
Leafeon looked thrilled. Little Mushroom had said last time that it was a blast, but Leafeon hadn't expected it to feel this good. It was like riding a train!
"Ye Lan, I get that you want to catch Gym Leader Volkner's attention, but won't we get kicked out for doing this?"
Unlike Qin Chuan, who was still yelling nonstop, Jenny Li remained remarkably calm, having been through plenty of far more dangerous situations... fine, she admitted it. This really was quite a thrill...
"Relax. Look behind us."
At his words, Jenny Li looked back. Small hovering robots were rapidly repairing the many mechanisms Serperior had smashed aside. Almost before they reached the next obstacle, the previous one had already been repaired and retracted into the metal wall.
"You're seriously underestimating Volkner. His talent for electrical engineering is actually a little greater than his terrifying talent as a Trainer."
A flicker of surprise crossed Jenny Li's eyes. It wasn't that she doubted Ye Lan's words, but that she had suddenly realized how unusually well he knew this Gym Leader. She wondered where Ye Lan had learned so much about all these outstanding Trainers.
That was indeed the case. Volkner had left a very deep impression on Ye Lan, partly because of his accomplishments, but mostly because of his appearance.
Volkner had spiky golden hair and sharply defined features that made him look strikingly similar to a certain Fourth Hokage who excelled at Flying Raijin. Without a close look, they were practically identical. Back then, Ye Lan had almost thought the man's reanimation had actually sent him into the Pokémon world...
