Mount Lu was regarded as the Jade Kingdom's foremost place to seek immortality, surpassed only in reputation by no other mountain. It was home to the Five Sects of Mount Lu—Five Viscera Temple, Withered Bone Abbey, Four Limbs Temple, Flesh Abbey, and Beauty Palace—while also drawing demons, itinerant cultivators, and merchants to its surrounding territories. 203 293
Its Dao lineage had repeatedly risen and declined over tens of thousands of years without being completely extinguished. Fang Shu later connected the Five Sects' inheritances, the methods found in the Mount Lu Secret Realm, and even common spells circulating below the mountain to this enduring Orthodox Lineage. 321
When the Inner Heaven and Earth reappeared, the Five Sects suspended hostilities to contest its resources and protect the benefits created by Mount Lu's rising fortune. The secret realm expedition produced numerous inheritances and prompted the five sects to declare a joint Foundation Establishment Ceremony. 231 232 293
At Ancient Mount Lu, the five sect masters' plan culminated in the emergence of the Beauty Palace Lord as the Mount Lu immortal. The apparent Spirit Refinement was exposed as a false achievement dependent on Mount Lu's fortune, and the mountain's disciples were targeted by a goose-headed demihuman of the Profound Teaching. 301 302
The confrontation ended with the Severing Heaven and Earth spell erasing the memories of those present and likely affecting the entire Mount Lu range. The surviving Five Sects regarded the mountain as ill-omened and began to abandon it. 305
After the Five Sects' decline, a true disciple of the Profound Teaching led Floating Mountain's forces against Mount Lu, broke its temples, sealed its entire earth vein beneath a vast formation, and established the Mount Lu Estate. 347
