The war between Huo Ling and Bael had begun.
The generals looked at Huo Ling, awaiting his latest orders.
Huo Ling looked toward Balzefen and issued his command:
"Balzefen!"
"Qibos!"
"Qimima!"
"Dargos!"
"Pirza!"
"Present!" the five Dark Generals answered in unison.
Huo Ling's draconic eyes swept over the five generals. "Each of you will lead your respective Demon Army units and drive away the Abyssal legions besieging the Bronze Citadel."
"My battle with Bael is Purgatory's internal war. It must not affect the greater situation of the Blood War in Avernus!"
"I entrust my rear to you five generals!"
"By your command!" The Dark Generals nodded heavily.
Balzefen said, "Please rest assured, General. While you wage war against Bael, not a single demon will reach the Bronze Citadel!"
"With you there, I am at ease." Huo Ling nodded.
He then continued issuing orders. "Colin!"
"Fokas!"
"Zapan!"
"Present!" the three generals replied.
Huo Ling said, "You three generals will lead your respective Demon Army units and accompany me to the Bronze Citadel. We will drag Bael, that traitor, down from his throne!"
"By your command!" the three generals answered as one.
"Go. Assemble the troops at once!"
The colossal war machine began to move.
Each of the nine Dark Generals commanded at least a hundred million devil soldiers in their Demon Army.
Five immense legions marched toward the borders of Avernus, their goal to stop any demons seeking to meddle.
The other four legions had already assembled and were advancing toward the Bronze Citadel.
Of the four legions, the largest was Huo Ling's own force.
After so many years, even he himself did not know how many troops he commanded. Centuries of slaughter had left him with elite forces several times more numerous than the Demon Army itself.
